1979 Chevrolet Corvette Additional Info:

A very unique Corvette. My father is the son of very well known car customizer from the Midwest. He is not happy with ordinary restorations. He does not like the C3 Corvettes with the long back window, so he came up with this. A Corvette pickup!

My father loves fiberglass!!! Front and rear plastic parts were removed and new fiberglass installed and blended in, flip up headlights gone! The bed was all hand formed and layed up, tailgate as well. Very nice finish on the bed wood. To me the rear resembles a SSR. The factory fuel tank was replaced with a new aftermarket fuel cell and the fuel door was located on the right rear quarter.

The heart of the car sits a fresh rebuilt 454. Low compression, oval port heads, Comp Cam 268H, Edelbrock dual plane intake topped of with FITech 600HP fuel injection with Fuel Command. MSD 6AL and aftermarket billet distributor. Turbo 400 trans with Hughes 2500 converter. 3.73 posi. Hooker Supercomp 2 1/8 primary headers and side pipes. Aluminum radiator with Lincoln Mark VIII fan. Can drive all day in Arizona summer. Car runs and drives very well!!!

Interior is in excellent condition!!! All black. Body paint is what I would call very nice, but not perfect. A cut and buff will take it to the next level.

It does need a few things. A/C is not practica, so the evaporator box will need to be removed and a delete cover installed. They are available online and will retain heater function. The power assist cylinder needs rebuild, leaking. I have a Hydroboost setup that I was going to install, but don't have much free time. Will include. The underside could use a good detailing. The tailgate has a paint blemish above the Corvette emblem caused by an unfortunate incident with a garage door, about the size of a quarter. Not very noticeable.

I would Like to keep it, but I have another project car to finish. My father gave it to me and I am not a Vette guy.

There are more details I know I'm forgetting, but you can inquire if interested. This is a head turner and a conversation starter!!! The car has won a few awards at some local car shows. I know its not for the purist, but if you want something different.
