1988 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z Additional Info:
I'm selling my all original '88 IROC-Z with the 5.7L (350 TPI) V8. I have owned this vehicle for 5 years now and am the third owner. The car has 83,300 original miles on it. I picked this car up as a project and I've worked on repairing and restoring a few things in it over the years.
New/replaced parts:
-Optima red-top gel cell battery
-K&N air filters
-New starter
-Replaced hood struts
-New alternator
-New spark plugs and plug wires
-New distributor and cap
-Replaced headliner
-Replaced outer window seals
-Clogged-up catalytic converter removed
-Broken alarm system removed
As you can tell from the pictures the exterior of the car is in fantastic shape and the bright red paint really shines. There is no rust under the rockers or fenders which is common for these cars. I've taken it to a few shows and always get compliments when I take it out. The vehicle is mechanically sound and can be driven as is. The engine runs strong and this car is quick. Power windows, mirrors, and hatch release all work. Since I have owned it the car has always been kept in a garage and covered when not in use. I have never driven it in the rain or even on a dirt road. I store it in a heated garage every winter. The car has an Alpine stereo, aftermarket speakers, and two 12" subwoofers with amp installed by the previous owner.
The car does need a few things. The T-Top seals need to be replaced; I have new seals from Classic Industries that will go with the car. The car does have A/C but hasn't worked since I bought it. The front end could use new tie rod ends but it drives perfectly straight down the road as is. The interior is in great shape with no cracks in the dash pad; however the driver's seat does have a small tear in the side.
I've really enjoyed this car but I rarely find the time to drive it these days. I'm looking into other projects so sadly it has to go to make room. Hagerty Classic Car's value for an average IROC-Z is over $12,000. This is a numbers matching original IROC; the VIN and RPO codes line up a factory IROC with the 350 TPI. I would prefer cash sales or cashier's check face-to-face. If you are buying from out of state you are responsible for picking up or shipping the car, I will work with you some on the price to accommodateshipping costs. More pics available upon request!
