69 Z11 Pace Car L78

1969 Chevrolet Camaro Additional Info:

Listing my 1969 Camaro Pace Car, 4 speed with a L78 engine. This is a real Z11 car with original, never removed tags authenticated by 1st gen camaro expert Jerry MacNeish. It is a 4L build which is the last week of April, 1969. The car was delivered to Paul Mitrand Chevy in Mansfield MA and remained in MA until I purchased it a few years back. I have the NCRS shipping report as well as a stack of old receipts dating back into the 70s, a old title from then and 2 appraisals from 1978 appraising the car at a whopping $6000! It has partial original paint and partial single stage repaint from 1977 that still shines well.
The drivetrain is a real L78 272 block cast C79 ( March 7th, 1969). The block was decked at some point. It has correct deep grove pulleys, alternator pulley comes with but not on it. Has a 4346 carb. 6223 crank. 291 heads. 621 bellhousing. 163 intake. Muncie m21 trans. 3.55 12 bolt posi. None of which are original, but all dated 1969. The engine was recently rebuilt and only has just a few test miles. Also has a new chambered exhaust system and brand new tires.
This was a low option car with only power steering and tilt wheel. No console, no gauges, no power top.
As far as overall condition it is "driver" quality. I try to describe a car as I would like it described if I were going to buy it. Something that is great for local shows and cruise in but by no means a national show car. There are plenty of small flaws in the paint, nicks, scratches throughout, but it still shines and has held up remarkably well for how old it is. With paint this old, all flaws would have came out long ago. Something you cant say about fresh paint as you dont know what could appear in just a year or two. Its not perfect but I figured of it still looks well after all these years Im not going to touch it. It has all original panels but does have patch panels including a center trunk floor, and partial floor pans installed. All look pretty good, again not show quality but with the age of the paint this isnt a car I wanted to have torn apart.
The interior, except the carpet and radio appear to be all original and nice condition for its age. Seats have no tears, door panels are nice. There is a little curling in the dash pad, but its original. Dash bezel and steering column and steering wheel have scratches but again decent for 1969 stuff. The top is approx 4 years old. Bumpers are original. Some off the trim is original and some has been replaced. I have the original jack equipment.
