1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu with less than 31K original miles. Because of the overall condition of the Chevelle, I believe the miles are the original miles and I have no reason to suspect otherwise. This Chevelle Malibu is a true survivor in original very nice condition. The factory exterior paint is Rosewood with a beige bench front seat interior. Chevy’s reliable small block, 307 2 barrel (see photo of engine information) with, Power Steering, Power front disc brakes, automatic transmission, factory air conditioning that actually works, all seat belts are in great condition, working factory AM radio with single front and single factory rear speakers.
Everything works as it should, lights, horn, wipers, gauges, turn signals, backup lights, buzzer for key etc. The door jambs are clean and the hinges are in excellent shape with no sagging. The windows are clear and roll up and down as they should. Currently has factory 15” Chevelle SS five spoke rims with new BF Goodrich TA radials. I also have in excellent condition the original hub caps and wheels with new Cooker tires that are a replica of the original bias ply tires that came on the car (see photo). The spare tire and jack are in place. The car has never been altered in any way. It has the owner’s manual in the glove box. Original identification tags and stickers are in place. The weather stripping is in excellent condition being soft and flexible. The undercarriage is in great original condition with only some very light surface rust. The paint appears to be original and is thin in some spots and the car does have miscellaneous dings and scratches (a couple of very small dents hardlynoticeableon top near passenger’s door) which are too be expected on an original car. The interior is in excellent condition, dash pad, knobs, switches, steering wheel, door and kick panels, etc, etc. The headliner does have three small holes from what appears to be someone pushing their little finger through it (as a child, I did that once to my dad’s car). The single exhaust does have a small hole in the tail pipe. The steering and suspension work as they should, tight and responsive.
The photos speak for themselves showing inside the trunk fender wells were water likes to accumulate and rust from inside out. This Chevelle trunk fender wells are dry and clean (see photo). There is absolutely no rust in the cowl area, battery tray area, torque box, hood or truck lip, quarter panels, or bottom of the doors. On each side on the rear valance the paint is chipped. Again being an original car this is due to the fact of rocks being kicked up from the rear wheels when driven. (See photo). There is also one small area behind each front tire (see photo).
So if you are looking for an original Chevelle Malibu to enjoy as a driver or to build a SS Chevelle clone THIS IS IT!
You would spend thousands trying to make another Chevelle into this condition and it still would not be an original example like this one.
The Chevelle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed, written or implied. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the Chevelle and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle.
I am a licensed Illinois Auto Dealer since 1972. Illinois buyers must pay sales tax and license fees. Out of state buyers pay their own states sales tax and license unless the dealer is required to collect sales tax for that state.
The car is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early.
