ENGINE

The engine, built Thunder Custom Auto, is a 572 cubic inch Merlin III big block with World Products Merlin CNC heads. Sitting on top of this beast is a polished Whipple W200-AX Quad Rotor supercharger setup; dual 3.3L units with eight 66 lb./hr. injectors fed into a single fuel rail at the rear of the blower below the dual 2,200 CFM throttle bodies. Spark is provided by a Holley distibutorless ignition system with 4 coils (waste fire spark system). This is all controlled by a Holley HP ECU. The engine uses a forged Eagle crankshaft, Eagle forged H-beam connecting rods, Mahle forged pistons, Comp Cams hydraulic roller cam, Howards lifters, Comp Cams 3/8" dual taper pushrods, and Scorpion roller rockers. The engine is backed by a custom polished GM TH 400 transmission. The exhaust system uses Spin-Tech 3 - 1/2" oval tubing with an x-pipe and Dr. Gas boom tubes found on NASCAR cup cars, exiting in front of the rear tires.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

The chassis is a custom piece built by No Limit Engineering and features a 4 link rear suspension with a narrowed positraction Currie 9" Ford rear end running hardened 3.73 gears. The front suspension is independent with adjustable coil overs and a Mustang II steering setup. The brakes are Wilwood 13" slotted units. The wheels are custom built by Foose, 18 x10's on the front, 20 x 15 wide on the rear. Tires are Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R; 10" wide on front, 16" wide on the back.

BODYWORK/TRIM:

The project took 6 years to complete. With the exception of the door handles, the body has been completely smoothed including removal of the cab drip rail and filling the factory gas cap, bed stakes, and side marker lamps. The 1969 hood was removed on favor of a 67/68 unit. The box was tubbed with the bed floor raised 4" to accommodate the massive tires. The wood bed is hickory with stainless steel bed strips, all with hidden fasteners. The flawless beautiful blue paint was laid down on the laser straight body by Tom Valiquette of Tom's Classy Customs in Idaho Falls, ID.

INTERIOR:

The interior is completely custom with leather imported from Scotland. The carpet is identical to that used by BMW, Mercedes and Lexus. The interior features a 7" Pioneer touch screen display with DVD and navigation, with 6 speakers powered by dual Pioneer amps providing a very rich sound.. All gauges are Auto Meter.
