1965 Chevrolet Shortbed Pickup. Originally had a 350V8 in it which was removed with the 350 Auto trans. The engine and transmission (Vortec 6.0 LQ9 345hp/380lb ft/ 4L60E trans) that is currently in it came out of a 2004 Cadillac Escalade that had 117,000 miles upon it's removal and ran and drove perfectly. The donor Escalade was not a “Salvage” vehicle and was not involved in any prior accidents. The ECM/Computer remained with the engine upon removal. Installation of the engine and trans into the Pickup was straightforward utilizing "LSX" engine mounts. All new mandrel bent dualexhaust, 2.25", to Flo Pro mufflers. Sounds great! A custom transmission crossmember was fabricated and bolted to the frame. (See Video Link)
The Truck was purchased from previous owner and was stated to be on a "full size" Chevrolet Blazer chassis. Custom roll cage in the cab extending into the engine bay out of 1.5" tube. Gusseted differentials front and rearwith Aluminum covers. Differentials are skid plate protected as well. Soft ride leaf springs (Rear 7 leaf, Front 5 leaf). RearShock platescustom bracketed and welded to the axle housing. 8 Shocks total for rear, 4 Shocks total frontfor ride comfort andstability. Front Shocks custom bracketed and weldedto front axle housing. (See Video Link)
Transfer case is an NP 241 that is hooked up to a JB Fab shifter. 4L60E is hooked up to a B&M shifter. Custom front and rear driveshafts. All U joints new. Custom made center console houses both shifters and a cell phone "shelf" and 4 cupholders. Dash has two auxillarypower ports located above the shelf. Both the Dash and Console are wrapped in Black Faux Leather as well as the door panels. AC is original compressor from the Escalade and routed to a Vintage Air Gen 2 Super Cooler/Heater with defrost and 4 dash vents. New AC Condenser and Drier. The unit is tucked up under the passenger side dash. Keeps you seriously cool!Gauge cluster is Water Temp, Fuel, Voltage, and Oil Pressure, VDOwith a Garmin GPS front and center the reads out MPH as well as directional maps. All gauges work and read accurately. (See Video Link)
Brake master cylinder is Hydro Boost from the Escalade and plumbed to front discs and rear drums. Fuel tank is custom aluminum, capacity 60 gallon. New Fuel pump, (255lph to more than handle the 6.0) and sending unit calibrated to the gauge for accurate fuel level reading.
Paint shows nicely and gets many compliments. There are some cosmetic "blemishes", but nothing not expected for an older truck. There is one small shallow dent on passenger front fender. Check out the pictures and video to see. Truck draws attention all the time.
The Truck has complete new body electrical harness and new modern style fuse box. Engine harness as mentioned above is factory Escalade.
Wheels are Weld Stone Crushers, 6 lug, with 38" tires with 95% tread left. Truck rides and drives nicely. Has tons of power and torque. Will be a great "daily driver" or addition to someones growing car collection. (See Video Link)
