1965 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe For Sale – I'm not sure how accurate the miles are I do know my father put a383 C.I.crate enginepurchased in 2012, new alternator andcustom fit aluminum radiator4 speed Hurst manual. Corvette put America back on the sports car map and Corvette owners are in a class by themselves with the Chevrolet Corvette also known as the Corvette Sting Ray. The American sports car legend, C2 for 2nd Generation, was produced for the 1963 to 1967 model years. The radical exterior styling of this Corvette generation was very purposeful with peaked fenders, a long nose, and a short bobbed tail that Chevrolet designers bragged about as ‘looks most stylists would be too timid to even suggest’. Quad headlamps were hidden mounted in rotating sections that matched the sharp-edged front end with the eyes closed. The Sting Rays interior carried a new interpretation of the twin-cowl Corvette dash motif with a full set of round gauges included a huge speedometer and tachometer. The control tower center which was slimmed down compared to the first generation, blends with the console and houses the clock and a vertically situated radio. Now for its third season, the 1965 styling alterations were subtle with a smoothed-out hood now devoid of scoop indentations, a trio of working vertical vents in the front fenders that replaced the previous nonfunctional horizontal speed lines, restyled wheel covers and rocker-panel moldings. A side exhaust system appeared as an option as did a telescopic steering wheel. Also available were alloy spinner rims, at US$322 a set. In ’65 Chevrolet proudly stated, ‘Drive it. Really drive it. Then tell us about those $14,000 cars’. The rare Sting Ray Coupe retailed at $4,233 and with only 8,186 produced it represented not much more than half the Convertible production. Built at the St. Louis plant on May 5, 1965, this wonderful Sport Coupe is simply stunning. Beautifully finished in Red with a black leather interior. The red paint is absolutely eye popping and in good condition showing off the distinctive lines of the classic corvette design. a 383 C.I. The distinctive stance of the Sting Ray is unmistakable as it sits on polished aluminum American Racing 17x7 wheel and 215/60 HR17 Tires. The entire black interior looks sharp against excellent clear gauges surrounded by sharp chrome. This Sting Ray has nice factory production features like the Soft Ray Tinted Glass and the AM/FM Radio. As one Corvette advertisement was titled ‘Try this on the old psyche’… for sure this striking Red Sting Ray Coupe can take you from your regular everyday world to some road going excitement!
