1969 SS 396 el Camino "survivor" has 88,000 well maintained, original miles, with its numbers matching 396,the consecutive unit number (vin) is stamped on the block. 325hp. stock exhaust manifolds, stock quadrajet carburetor, stock air cleaner, stock points style distributor, clutch fan, shroud. th400 column shift automatic transmission, front disk brakes
-12 bolt posi trac rear end (2:73/1), rear drum brakes
-factory original air conditioning system is all there and complete, but the belt is missing, and the compressor may be froze up.
-it has a new water pump, radiator, alternator, battery, and exhaust with flow master mufflers.
-all the glass is real clean with no rock chips, cracks, or scratches. windows roll up and down with ease. headliner is real nice, as is the dash pad, door panels, carpet and upholstery, showing only minimal wear (the driver side arm rest is the only exception).the gauges, lights, wipers, and cigarette lighter all work.
-the radio has been replaced with an am, fm, cassette radio and is not presently working, but ya got the flow masters to listen to, you don't NEED no stinkin radio...
-a previous owner has done some work to the front suspension and installed aftermarket round tube style upper control arms at some point, and with that being said, the front end seems tight and solid, with no wander, shimming or pulling at any speed. its a real fun car/truck to drive.
-other than the radio, upper control arms, and bed rails, this tuxedo black on black el Camino is, to the best of my knowledge, bone stock original. the truck bed has seen very little use with a few small dings, but absolutely NO RUST! tail gate works perfect. its never had a trailer hitch installed either!
-this is a very nice, 95% original, 48 year old truck. its not perfect. it needs a new vinyl top, engine detailing, some work on the air conditioning system, some minor paint touch ups (the hood has some scratches from a bad hood hinge), and a little tlc.
- NADA Value shows this truck should be worth over $21,000 "average retail", and over $30,000 for "high retail".
This truck has spent most of its life in and around western Nebraska/eastern Wyoming and is located in Scottsbluff Ne (panhandle), just a 3 hour drive (200 miles) north east of Denver.
