1978 Chevrolet Corvette Silver Anniversary Edition Additional Info:

Seven Hills Motorcars is glad to offer this low mileage and completely numbers matching 1978 Silver Anniversary Edition Corvette in excellent condition and priced to sell with the L82 engine and 4-Speed close ratio manual transmission. A true Silver Anniversary Edition L82 with a close ratio 4-Speed is just about the best option package imaginable for a late C3 Corvette, they are exceptionally rare and virtually impossible to find. The car is totally solid with great lines and is rust free. It runs well and drives great. The Corvette is finished in the beautiful and highly desirable color combination of RPO B27 Silver Anniversary Two Tone over Black Leather interior, which is the correct and original color combination as verified by the codes on the trim tag and build sheet, both pictured below. Most Silver Anniversary Edition Corvettes came with Oyster interior. Black is much more desirable and rare. This is an excellent opportunity to own a wonderful classic Corvette that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price as the market on C3 Corvette is hot right now and on the rise. The low mileage is supported not only by the condition, but also the documents included with the car and the clear Ohio title, pictured below, showing the mileage as, "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, numbers, and video below to get a true sense of how original, correct, and nice this Corvette really is.

We purchased this Corvette from a gentleman in southern Ohio. He was a definite Corvette enthusiast with great taste in cars. In the past we also purchased a 1982 Collector Edition Corvette with 42,900 miles and a 1978 Pace Car with 23,600 miles from the same owner. It was a beautiful day when we purchased this Silver Anniversary so I actually drove the back to our dealership, which was over an hour drive. During the trip is the car was completely reliable, operated impeccably with no issues, and was an absolute pleasure to drive.

Please notice that all 1978 Corvettes wore the "25th Anniversary" badge. However, only certain cars, such as this example, were the actual Silver Anniversary Editions with the Silver Anniversary regular production order (RPO), "B2Z." This is verified by the trim tag that is pictured below showing the paint to be 13 for the bright Silver upper sections and 07 for the Dark Gray lower section, which was only used in 1978 and only for the B2Z Corvettes, on the darker lower portion.

Included with the car is a massive amount of original documentation and history on the car. Most importantly the original build sheet is included, which is especially important for this Corvette as it verifies as original the highly desirable options like the B2Z paint, L82 engine, M21 close ratio transmission, and YJ8 Aluminum wheels. A copy of the window sticker, the original warranty book, original owners manual, Goodyear Tire booklet, battery pamphlet, consumer information booklet, and aluminum wheel instructions are all still with the car. Also included are dozens of receipts for maintenance over years. This Corvette was a Mid America Designs customer calendar winner and featured in the Mid America calendar in 1998. There are photos below of the letter from Mid America to the previous owner informing him of the win and a photo of the calendar feature, which states that the car had 33,000 miles at the time.

This Corvette is completely "Numbers Matching" and virtually every part we checked on the car is correct. We have run the numbers on hundreds of Corvettes and there are very few that are so many correct and original components with correct numbers and dates. The last six digits of the VIN are stamped on the engine pad, which is pictured below, and the engine is original to the car. The transmission is also original with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the main case and pictured below.

As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.
