1981 Chevrolet Corvette Additional Info:
1981 Corvette4 Speed Manual66k Original Miles
For your bidding consideration today is my 1981 Chevrolet Corvette. I purchased this car earlier this year from the second owner, He had purchased the car in 1985 with 40k miles on it in 85' and only put just over 20k on it over the last 32 years. It has been garage kept its entire life. It drives very nice and runs good. I had intentions of restoring the interior and going over the car, but I have too many other projects and unfortunately not enough money or time. This is an original St. Louis Corvette painted in its original laqcuer paint. The paint has normal chips, scrapes etc. What you would expect from an original Vette of its age. Its also showing some spider webs, something I find truely beautiful and shows its patina. It appears to have had some touch up in places like the door, fender, bumpers etc. The car has a ton of recent work, Rebuilt original radio with an added aux plug so you can listen to your iPod or Cell Phone, The Vette has also had a full service, (The owner since 1985 has only used Mobil 1 products and this is what I used) Transmission oil and rear differential oils replaced with Mobil oils, New Brakes and some brake lines, brakes bled and serviced, New O Ring Caliper and piston kits, New plug wires, spark plugs, I just had the mufflers replaced with a set of Flowmaster 50 Series and now it has a nice mellow rumble. The PO had the valve covers painted while they were installing some new gaskets, Carburetor has been rebuilt. New American Made Door Weatherstripping, I also have new weatherstrippingfor the A pillar as well as new retainers, but they still need to be installed. Lots of other work i'm probably missing. This is a survivor car so not much has been replaced so there are a few things that need work. The interior, these were not very high quality even new, I would go through the interior and replace some pieced if you want a nice car, or just leave it as is like a driver. 1 tire is showing wear (It has 4 new tires, but 1 got a flat and the PO installed one of the old tires), Steering damperleaks, door handles are temperamentallike most C3 Vettes, mostly passenger side, Wheels are old Tru-Spoke Chrome Laced Wheels, the previous owner spent almost $3,000 on them in the 80's, but they are showing their age as well and should be cleaned or refurbished. This is a nice rare 4 Speed Vette with low miles that needs some TLC to be perfect, please come inspect and view in person. I can arrange shipping at the expense of the buyer. Please ask any and all questions prior to the end of the auction. I have been driving this a few times a week and have taken it on a view trips with 0 issues. Its a good old car that needs a good home. Thanks for looking!
