1951 Chevrolet 3100
Up for your consideration is my '51 Chevy 3100. The previous owner had the truck professionally restored about 10 years ago including swapping out the original 6 cylinder for a 350 sbc V8 and Automatic Transmission. The truck is a blast to drive around town or on the freeway. The suspension is still stock with drum brakes all the way around and manual steering. It has a "suicide knob" on the steering wheel that makes it easy to steer.
Mechanically it runs and drives great. Starts right up everytime and idles smooth with no engine knocks or pings. No fluid leaks.
The pictures show how nice the truck is inside and out. The interior is clean and complete. The guages all work with the exception of the fuel gauge. Dash lights (guages) work as well. Heater blows hot. Headlights, turn signals, horn, and brake lights work as they should. All glass is in great shape with no cracks or hazing. I recently installed new interior door panels and passenger door glass.
The paint still shines and shows well. Previous owner purchased this truck years ago as a rust free truck and then had it painted and drivetrain upgraded to his liking. All metal, including cab corners, floor pans, firewall, inner fenders, bed walls, etc... are all in great shape with no rust or rot. The paint is starting to show some wear with bubbles appearing near the upper cab seam below the rear window area along with a few scratches here and there. I was going have that touched up and blended but never got around to it. My original plan with the truck was to paint it gloss black, add a chrome grille, and a set of chrome steelies. As it is it draws a crowd anywhere it goes.
Housekeeping:
Bid only if you intend to buy it. Ask all questions before bidding. What you see is what you get, a good old truck that has been well taken care of that can be enjoyed for years to come just as it is, or make it into a cool Hot Rod / Show Truck. Remember, it's not a perfect show truck at the moment but could be. It's 66 years old and is being sold as is with no warranties expressed or implied. I'm open to fair offers and willing to end the auction early if we agree on a price. No low balling. Shipping costs and arrangements are the responsiblity of the buyer, but I am willing to help on my end to make sure all goes smoothly with your transport. If there is something you want to see that's not pictured I'm happy to email you a photo of what you want to see. Also, I'm willing to discuss the truck on the phone with serious buyers, simply email me your number and I'll give you a call. Thanks !!
