1969 CAMARO CONVERTIBLE HUGGER ORANGE ON WHITE BARNFIND VERY SOLID PROJECT
1969 Chevrolet Camaro convertible, stored inside since the early 1980`s. This was a project that someone started and stopped. The car has new quarter panel skins, the passenger side is about 90 % welded ( not a great job and should be redone). The driver side has just been screwed in place, the skin has not even been trimmed to fit yet. The floor pans need the front and rear sections replaced, but the under bracing and supports are all VERY NICE!! The car even has most of its original seam sealer still in place.
THE FRAME RAILS AND SHOCK TOWERS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION!!!
The trunk floor has a couple of small holes, I would not even replace the trunk pan. With a little bit of repair and fabrication you can save the original trunk floor. See the trunk pictures.
Front clip and doors need work, front clip is not original to the car, the doors are original. You may just want to go with repro parts, they are resonably priced and fit pretty good.
This car is original hugger orange with a white interior. Automatic with floor console, power top, power brakes (4 wheel drum), power steering.
The motor in the car is a 1974 350 small block, looks like it has a new oil pan and some new gaskets. The heads are just sitting inplace. There is a lot of grease and grime on the engine. Consider the engine a core to rebuild. I know nothing about the transmission, does not look to good though. I have a 400 small block and turbo 350 transmission that was pulled as a running drivetrain out of a 1979 camaro that I will drop in the car for you if you want.
Seats are nice solid cores for rebuilding. Back seat is very nice. All the glass is intact and in good shape, the side windows roll up and down. The door open and shut good, when you pull up and down on the doors the whole car moves showing that is is solid. The car sits level, when you open both doors there is no sag in the car. This car is a nice starting point for a restoration. It needs a full restoration but is a solid foundation.
