1940 Chevrolet Special Deluxe Convertible -- Additional Info:
West Coast Classics are proud to present this absolutely exceptional and stunning example of this virtually all stock and completely rust and accident free and very rare 1940 Chevrolet Special Deluxe 'Series KA' 2 Door Convertible Coupe with it's reliable and virtually bullet-proof six cylinder engine with a manual synchromesh 3 speed transmission!
All Chevy's from 1932 forward had boasted the long-lived and reliable 'Blue Flame' six engine and amongst its available models the longer w...heel base versions of the 'Master' line, known as the 'Deluxe' versions were the most desirable. This was a classic prewar Chevy and well proportioned and solidly built. The top-of-the-line model was known as the 'Special Deluxe' and it was a much fancier and upscale edition of the 'Master Deluxe' and which today commands the attention of serious collectors and enthusiasts everywhere. Stainless steel moldings trimmed the hood and body belt line and standard equipment included a 30 hour clock, front door armrests, a right hand windshield wiper, twin air horns and a deluxe steering wheel with horn ring. The convertible had a full width rear seat and power operated top and a choice of different colors of upholstery and convertible tops was offered for the first time by Chevrolet. Interiors were richly appointed in cloth fabric and with leather in the convertible with thick seat padding for extra comfort. A two-tone woodgrained instrument panel surrounded an arched speedometer and auxiliary gauges while a clock graced the glovebox door and a chromed radio grille was positioned in the center. New to the Chevrolet line were plastic instrument knobs.
This particular car has been beautifully restored and finished in a striking 'Light Green' color with a light brown leather interior and matching convertible soft top. The car looks absolutely beautiful and has been professionally restored with the whole interior in quite exceptional and virtually flawless condition throughout! The matching 'Light Brown' Power Soft Top is also as new and all the restored chromework is also in very beautiful condition. The original spare wheel is in it's rightful storage place in the trunk. The 6 cylinder engine is extremely strong and powerful and this particular car drives magnificently - must be driven to be believed - drives straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles, shakes or rattles - a truly remarkable daily driver that will give any modern day car a run for it's money!
This is a rare opportunity to own a great daily driving example of a never abused (and oozing pride of ownership of an obviously always garaged and rust free example) 1940 Chevrolet Special Deluxe 'Series KA' Convertible Coupe in simply superb condition throughout! This is one very rare and highly desirable and collectible unabused example of one of America's Pre-War classics and these high quality luxury cars were built to be able to complete long distances both quickly and in the utmost of luxury for it's day! We doubt that few finer examples exist anywhere.
This is one very desirable car for any classic American car collector or obviously any Pre-War classic car enthusiast to add to his collection and a sure-fire investment that's sure to appreciate over the years for any classic American car collector!
