What a find! This 1980 Corvette is one of the nicest you would ever see. Simply stunning when you see it in person and just how nice the paint, chassis, interior,and engine compartment really is. It pays to store one right all of these years. Most low mileage cars have aged and show alot of corrosion and rust underneathbut not this one. The car is a true actual mileage unrestored example with nice documentation and paperwork. Sold new at Bill Sight Chevrolet in Kansas CityMissouri and has stayed its entire life in that area. From what paperwork and documentation I have it appears to have been a 3 owner car at which the 3rdowner had only kept the car for about 1 year as it was to nice of one to make a driver. I have copies of previous owner titles, bill of sales when sold, registrationpapers, some inspection slips, original window sticker, original owners manual, original sales brochure, copy of original dealer invoice, original odometer statementwhen delivered on April 30th, 1980 showing 12 miles upon delivery, as well as other odometer statements filled out by other two owners. I also have the originalpaper envelope that the owners manual came in with the original Dealer's name and logo on it. Well documented and recently fluids have been changed. Someservice receipts along the years included with the folder that is all put together and goes with the sale of the car. Original t-top storage bags, original jack ad lugwrench, original spare tire and wheel, spare tire lock, all of the good stuff that is suppose to be with these cars but most of the time is not. Even the instructionalsunvisor tag is still intact.
The Corvette is finished in Corvette Red with Matching Red Leather Interior. The paint shows very well and shines about as good as I have seen an 80 model.There is no cracking or problems with the original front and rear bumpers and the paint matches well with the body of the car as it was kept inside. Many ofthese original survivors the paint on the bumpers do not match the body from oxidizing and fading due to being left out or improperly stored. The overallpaint is a strong # 2 condition only showing a few nicks that are really not that noticeable. You do have to realize that the car is 37 years old and that the paintprocess back at the St. Louis assembly was not like today's standards with all of the quality checks and base coat clear coat finishes. With that said it isone of the nicest original paint cars I have seen as many were sloppy and had runs in them. My father bought a new 1980 model back in the day and it didnot look as good as this one. The window glass is all original and no scratches, chips or nicks. All glass in excellent condition. Weatherstripping is originalin excellent condition as well with no dry rotting or cracking. Even the t-top weatherstripping is nice. Just simply a super nice original car.
Interior on the car is stunning! Not only for the red color that matches the paint but just how nice it really is. Absolutely no cracks or wear on the seats,carpet, and door panels. The steering wheel is excellent with no wear or collapsing as most usually do. The floor mats are original and as good as they getas far as condition. No wear or grease stains. Non-smoker vehicle as well and the ashtray and cigarette lighter is near perfect. The car even still has somewhatof the new car smell that it had back in 1980. All gauges work and I did have the clock and original power radio antenna rebuilt. All lights, fasten seat beltwarning, all still work as well as the cruise control. The seats belts, seat tracks, do not have any corrosion and still all look fresh and new. The 8-track tapeplayer does work as well. No dust behind instruments, no scuffs or scratches on steering column, center plastic console is excellent, rear storage tray isnice, new battery installed in 2016, no fading or signs of aging on dash assembly, truly must see to appreciate the quality of this corvette.
The engine compartment and chassis are virtually untouched original. All decals, labels, inspection markings, stampings, overspray, all visible as ifit rolled of the assembly line yesterday. Just look at the photo of the original brake booster and you can see the gold original finish with no realdeterioration. The smog pump and all steel parts still have that nice fresh finish. The belts and hoses still have the GM markings on them. The previousowner did replace the alternator, shocks, and new brake calipers. Those items are the only known non-original and I wish he had kept them as thosecould have been rebuilt. I asked him about the shocks and he said they were leaking is why he replaced and did not know they could have been rebuilt.Other than those items the car is all original including all the original exhaust system with date coded mufflers, original catalytic converter, the picturesspeak for themselves and really do not do the car justice. I do have several more photos that I will be happy to send of the chassis, engine, interior,if someone would like to see them. The frame is excellent with no respray or rust. No surface rust as well. You can definitely tell the car was not drivenin the rain at all. Even underneath the fender wells there is no dirt or debris. You can see in the one photos the factory partial undercoating and bodypaint overspray as it is suppose to be. Ground straps are all nice, washers, hardware, fittings all look good as well. I did remove the spare tire compartmentjust to wipe some dust off and did notice the original build sheet on top of the fuel tank as which I did take a photo to document. I did not remove it as Idid not want to damage the paper. Everywhere you look on this car whether it is underneath, under the fenders, rear quarters, inside, on top, you willbe overall impressed to say the least at just how nice this one really is. Great car, rare find, and a super great investment model of a corvette that willcontinually increase for years to come.
The wheels on the car have the original finish and do not need any cleaning or restoring. I have owned several of these models and usually will have topolish the wheels to bring them out but even then that does not duplicate the original clear coat style wheel finish. No evidence of pealing nor anyflaws such as road rash or curb rash marks. The center caps and lug bolts are excellent as well. We did spend alot of money for these correct GoodyearPolysteel Radial Tires as they are now being reproduced. These tires are exactly like what came on the car when new. The previous owner removed the original tires anddid not save them as he should have but even if he did you probably would not have wanted to drive on them anyway. This way you have the look andare good for judging as well as knowing you are much safer when driving that the tires are new. They are all balanced out well and ride nice.These tires alone are $350 each totaling $1,400 not counting freight nor mounting and balancing. The size is P225/70R15 White Lettered.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS TO THE 1980 MODEL CORVETTE:The corvette featured new front and rear bumper "caps" with integral spoilers.Radiator airflow increased about fifty-percent. Integral spoilers improved the drag coefficient from .503 to .443 comparedto the 1979 model equipped with optional, non-integrated spoilers.The crossed flag emblems for 1980 were a new, more elongated design.The rear storage compartments were changed from a three-lid design to a new two-lid style in the 1980 model. The batterystayed in a separate compartment behind the driver, but the center and passenger-side compartments were combined withone access door.After several years of weight increases, the Corvette was lighter in 1980 as engineers trimmed weight by using lower densityroof panels, reducing the thickness of hood and outer doors, and using aluminum for the differential housing and crossmember.For the base L-48 engine, the L-82's aluminum intake manifold became standard.For improved surface quality, urethane was applied during molding to panels forward of the firewall and to roof panels.
