1955 Chevrolet Other Pickups Additional Info:
I'm selling my 1955 Chevrolet custom pick up. The body is a Chevrolet 3100, first series, which was produced until the end of March 1955. The body is on a 1980 something (I can't remember) Chevy Blazer 4 wheel drive chassis. It's powered by a 350 ci small block with a turbo tranny with a shift kit.
I bought this truck here in Pennsylvania about 15 years ago. It was mostly finished and I paid to have the work done to complete it so it would pass PA inspection. I added the wheels and tires and coil over shocks among other details. I had two fold down bucket seats from an Oldsmobile mini-van I had at the time mounted in the bed of the truck with seat belts. We had fun driving it to car shows around here for a while. A few years later I trailered the truck to our property in New Mexico. That's where it has been garage kept until I had it transported back here to Penna. last month. I only drove it for a total of 700 miles during the time I had it in New Mexico. The odometer currently shows around 2850 miles. It showed around 1300 miles when I bought it, which was supposed to be the correct mileage since it was built. Assuming that is true, I put a little over 1500 miles on it since I bought it. For the last 5 years I hardly drove it at all. SO, that's my story of ownership.
In the last few months I have drained the fuel tank and added fresh gas, replaced the water pump, the alternator and the gas lines. I just had the Edelbrock 4 barrel carb rebuilt. The truck has power steering and power brakes. The brakes work but should be bled. There is a short or something that slowly drains the battery if you let it sit. I unhook a cable and put it back on when starting and running it and everything works fine. Someone with a little electrical know how needs to check that out. There is some tranny fluid leaking but not bad. I haven't checked that out yet. The valve cover on the drivers side leaks a little oil because the gaskets need to be replaced. I bought new gaskets and if I don't get them installed, the new gaskets are included.
One thing I haven't mentioned is that the body is in excellent condition and was to begin with. All of it is original and about as rust free as you will find. Also, I bought a front visor for the windshield which I never installed and that is included. (You can see it in the box in the picture of the bed.) There is a chip in the windshield where the rear view mirror was glued on and later fell off. If you glue the mirror back on the chip would be covered...
I'm selling this truck as is / where is. I encourage anyone interested in it to come have a look. The truck is at my buddy's place north of Lebanon, PA. Call or message me with questions or details. If I don't answer please leave a message with your name and number and I'll get back to you asap. Of course I'll work with you and / or your transporter on this end. The truck should be picked up before the end of August.
PLEASE do not make a bid or Buy It Now if you are unable to pay for the truck ! Have your bucks worked out before you buy. $500 deposit required via Paypal at time of purchase.
I reserve the right to cancel this listing at any time if I sell it locally. Thanks! Jeff 717 269 5595
