1979 Chevy El Camino. I bought this car from the original owner in 2010. I have the original shipping document showing delivery to the dealer. Mike Lau at CYB Auto Repair in Honolulu, HI did most of the rebuild on this car. Shortly after the build was completed, we moved to the dry climate of El Paso, TX where the car has been ever since.

The engine block is from a Chevy 350 Vortec out of a '99 Suburban. The block was cleaned and inspected/crack tested. The block was then machined and rebored at Ted's Automotive. I have the original build sheet for the components that went into the engine. Everything was computer balanced and included a Comp Cams “Mutha Thumper” cam shaft. The engine was mated up to a new B&M Street and Strip TH-350 transmission and the rear end was rebuilt using 4.10 gears. The engine was finished off with a custom exhaust system which includes custom headers, "H" pipe, and Flowmaster 40 Series, “American Thunder” mufflers. Only 902 miles on the engine/transmission.

The body was stripped down to bare metal and painted in a two tone, silver and white. The pin stripping was done by hand (you can see pictures of the body and paint process on the CYB Auto Repair Facebook page). The bed was lined with Lava Liner and color matched to the car. The wheels were also color matched and pinstriped to match. The car has NEVER spent a night outside. The wheels are 22x8.5 front and 22x10 in the rear. The auction includes a stock set of wheels/tires.

The suspension is a Stage 3, UMI suspension kit with Bilstein shocks in the front and air shocks in the rear.

The car also has a custom Alpine stereo system with a custom enclosure built behind the seat, two amplifiers, and door and dash component speakers. The interior was completely redone except for the door panels and lower dash.

Full disclosure, the fuel gauge shows full all the time. I suspect the problem might be the sending unit in the fuel tank. I have not had the time to troubleshoot the issue but it's an easy fix. The front rubber bumper filler has a small, nickel sized paint chip missing on the front left. There is a pea sized paint chip on the upper/center tail gate and also on the left rear view mirror. The A/C system needs to be recharged as well. Otherwise, this car is a total monster and super fun to drive. I get the "thumbs up" everywhere I've been in this El Camino to include several car shows. I tend to really baby all my cars and I’ve never run this car to it’s full potential.

There is over $35,000 invested and the auction has a relatively low reserve. The auction winner is going to get one hell of a car!

This car is a beast! Custom 383 Stroker engine, Stage 3 racing suspension, and 4.10 gears in the rear end make this car a lot of fun to drive. The two tone paint with hand drawn pin stripes and color matched wheels get a ton of attention. The thunderous sound of the exhaust is enough to get the adrenaline pumping!
