Car was a purchase by my dad in 1966, as a Toledo Ohio Chevy plant worker, he was able to walk the factory assembly line with the Corvette that he had picked out as it went through. He drove it only for entertainment as a young man, keeping it in storage for winters to avoid any exposure to the elements. When we moved to Florida in 1978, we had it shipped with us and it was stored/covered in the garage for most of my life. Then in 2005, as a retirement project, dad had the engine rebuilt and new seals/brakes replaced to get it driving again. There may have been some touchup painting done at that time as there is some evidence of small overspray under the hood, but I am not able to confirm that.
