1971 Chevrolet Nova Additional Info:
The item you are bidding on is a 1971 Chevy Nova. I bought the car from a friend who had to downsize so I know some about the car but not a lot. Here is what I do know, it has an 350 cid probably early 1970's that was rebuilt into a 383 cid stroker. It has headers Weiand aluminum intake Holley Carburetor double hump heads upgraded distributor etc. I was told it was 450+ horsepower but have no way to prove that. It has a Turbo Hydramatic TH350 and a 10 bolt posi-traction rear end and was told at some time both were rebuilt. It has rally wheels and decent tires. It starts stops and turns but past that I can make no guarantee (I would have a look inside the motor before I drove it very far, pull the intake and heads). I have only driven it about 1 block, it is loud (3" stainless exhaust) and must have quite a cam in it. The engine needs at least a really good tune up, but you know how hot rods are, anything can break at any time. I would consider this car to be a "RUST BUCKET" not a candidate for restoration. At some time the previous owner had heavy duty rectangular stock steel welded from the front sub frame to the rear bumper. The rear leaf spring mounts were rusted out so they were fabricated (I use the word loosely) to keep everything in place. I know he put more into the drive-train than I am even asking for the entire car. The interior is awful with late model bucket seats, also it use to be auto on the column and was changed to the floor, the shifter is crap. If you are looking for a good example of a Nova please keep looking, this is not it. If you are looking for a neat looking fun car that might be fast after you sorted it all out then maybe this one is for you. There is no warranty implied or expressed so please do not bid unless you are sure, smart money would run from this car. Shipping is all up to you, you must arrange and pay for it yourself. I will be glad to assist on my end to load it. You really should see the car before bidding, easier said than done in most cases. I have no reason to believe it is an SS, just a base car. One more thing it was raining when I took the pictures so the paint looks better than it actually is, also several pieces of exterior trim are missing, rear window reveal, headlight doors etc. P.S. I just drove it a little ways up my driveway and found out the front tires are too wide to turn without rubbing so I will throw in 2 plain steel rims with tires and put the Rally's in the trunk when shipped. One more thing, I noticed the engine power was not getting to the ground when i went up my driveway, my guess is torque converter, but it could be anything, thanks again, Paul.
I will accept Paypal only for the deposit which is non-refundable for any reason, if you have another means of payment please feel free to email me before bidding.
