1972 Chevrolet El Camino Additional Info:

I bought this El Camino a few months ago with the intention of driving it this summer and fall. I brought it home and was immediately surprised by how solid the body was. There are small spots at the bottom of both fenders and quarters that i have pictured, that are very fixable, and are the worst spots on the entire body. When i put this car up on my lift and checked it out, i was very impressed with the floors and underneath of the bed. For the age, this car has got a very good body on it in my opinion. It has had a low quality paint job sometime in its past, so the paint is not in the best of shape now. The engine is a 350 with a 4 barrel carburetor, that all look to be original, but i havent ran the numbers so i have know way of knowing. The transmission is a three speed automatic, and this car has a 12 bolt rear end. This car starts right up, idles great, and runs good. The transmission shifts like it should, the brakes work excellent. The air conditioning does work, but it needs charged. The compressor will kick on when you switch it to A/C, but it doesn't blow cold. The interior is black, with a bench seat that needs to be recovered. I took the carpet out because it was not in the best shape, and i figured any one that buys it will want to get a good look at the floorboard. Car shows 51,000 miles. I have no way of knowing if that is 51,000 or 151,000, but by looking at the car, my guess is that it is 51,000.
I really hate to sell this car. I was going to recover the seat and put new carpet in it and drive it, however, i am now purchasing a house, and something has to go. This is a very good start to a restoration, or just drive it like it is. How often do you find a 45 year old car that still retains its originality, and functions like it should? The radio works, the door buzzer even still buzzes whenever you open the door with the key in the ignition. I also have the original protecto-plate, and the owners manual. I haven't checked, but i would bet that if you pulled the gas tank down, you would find the build sheet.
So if you are interested, please message me and i will get back with you. I'm available most weekends and mornings. Clean and clear title.
