This is a one owner 1983 Chevrolet El Camino SS "survivor". This all original California car is completely 100% rust free since new. The car has 116,137 total original miles.
This is a Carfax/Auto check certified no accident vehicle. Score for similar vehicles is 43-64, this vehicle scored a 55.
The El Camino starts right up and runs extremely well. It comes factory equipped with 5.0 lt 305 c.i. 4brrl carburetor. The car has substantial power. The transmission shifts on time through all the gears and right on time. The brakes, steering and suspension are all in proper working order. The a/c compressor will need to be replaced in order for the air conditioning to work.
-Original "blue and yellow" plate car authenticates it's California heritage since new
-Power windows work
-Fuel gauge does not work (possible faulty sending unit)
-Original owners manuals
-Nice stock wheels with beautiful center caps. Tires are older and should be replaced soon
-Superb and straight bed with original paint and few flaws
The car is completely un-touched and as honest-original as they come. This example is in the most desirable condition for any collector/classic car enthusiast/restorer.
All of the paint is original and in very presentable condition. The car has a lovely patina. A vehicle is only original once. With that being said there are various cosmetic imperfections that are to be expected, most or all of which can be seen in the pictures below, they consist of chips, nicks, scrapes, fading, hazing, etc. The are no hidden surprises here, what you see is what you get, nothing more-nothing less. The overall appearance is very attractive.
The body, chassis and frame are 100% rust free. No noticeable dents other than some creases on the tailgate. Nice chrome. Good glass. Could use replacement window strikers. All other trim and accessories are in good shape. Normal wear and tear on weatherstripping and rubber items. Really nice original condition to say the least.
The interior is in great shape for it's age. There is normal wear on the dash, carpeting and bench seat (see pics).
The headliner and door-panels look very good.
This is one of the nicest most original El Camino's we have seen in a long time. We enjoyed our time with this one and hope and the next owner/operator will appreciate it as much as we do. This is the perfect car to restore to perfection due to its entirely rust free chassis/body, or drive and enjoy as-is. Either way this car/truck is a winner!
