1951 GMC COE Custom Hauler
Up for auction is one bad ass COE hauler. There isn't another one out there like this anywhere. Want something no one else has? Want to be the envy of your hot rod buddies? Here's your chance. Haul your car in style.
This is a fresh build with lots of attention to detail. This is a fully restored truck. Lots of money spent on parts and labor.
The truck has all the modern conveniences that make it a comfortable ride. Disk brakes, power steering, power brakes, tilt, modern wipers, automatic, late model chassis, full air ride, power windows, and more.
The bed is fully custom built and like no other. Lots and lots of hours in fab work spent on it. It is all heavy gauge steel. It was designed to load low vehicles 19' long and will fit just about any car you want to load. The rear fenders are factory GM fenders. The area where the fenders are integrated into the bed are heavy gauge steel and fully reinforced. They are built to be driven over (see the pics). There is E track on the deck for a clean look and ease of tying down. The ramps are long and pull out of the back. If you raise the front air ride, and dump the rear, that tail is very low and there is almost no incline to the ramps. There is an aluminum tool box flush mounted into the deck. There is an access panel to easily get to the battery and air ride components. There are over 400 labor hours in the bed alone.
The cab is a super solid original 5 window California cab. The hood was molded to a 1 piece hood with shaved trim. Shaved hood and grill emblem. The headlights are frenched. The truck is finished in Porsche Guards Red, and looks fantastic. The entire truck was painted with base clear using all DuPont materials. It has been color sanded and polished to a mirror shine. The bodywork is nice and straight.
The wheels are 22.5 front and 24.5 rear semi wheels that were professionally milled to 22/24". The rear inners are polished matching wheels as well. They have 8 to 10 lug adapters. All 6 tires are new.The motor is a fuel injected 5.7 that runs great. It runs smooth and quiet. It was removed from a later model Chevy 2500 with low miles. It received
tons of new parts. It is computer controlled with a computer port and check engine light. New complete dual exhaust system. The trans is a TH400 that shifts nice and smooth. The chassis is a later model Chevy dually. It has power steering, power brakes, disk brakes, independent
front suspension, and new drop spindles. The truck rides and handles great. The truck has front and rear air ride suspension. The ride height can be raised or lowered by the controller in the cab. It has Accuair air management. The rear air bags are Peterbuilt style bags that are designed to handle a lot of weight. The rear end is a 14 bolt Corporate.
The interior is finished in a distressed saddle ultra leather that looks top notch. The dash, jambs, and entire cab were shot in a color matched brown base coat with matte clear on top. The seats are the original seats for the truck that have been redone with custom foam work and bolsters made in them for extra support and comfort. It has a lokar shifter, lokar pedal, and lokar e brake. A 40 Ford style steering wheel was painted to match, along with a tilt column. A one piece window conversion was done and power windows added. New headliner, carpet, and custom fire wall panels were made. All new chrome and stainless on the interior. All new stainless hardware.
Dakota Digital new HDX series gauges were used. These are the highest tech gauges on the market, and are not cheap! Each gauge has a full color LCD screen in it. You can change the color of the gauges and needles. The pics do them no justice.
All new glass, seals, windlace, weatherstripping, and rubbers throughout the truck.
Every piece of chrome on the truck is re-plated original or new.
This truck looks a lot longer than it is. Its 24' long, has a 17.5' wheel base, and a 19' bed. Its easy to drive, park, and maneuver.
