This 1969 Camaro is a well done 396 Big Block "SS" trim car. This car was re-finished about 9 years ago, and as the pictures show, everything on the car was redone. The bottom of the car is extremely clean and detailed as is the top and interior. The VIN number and Data plate show this car to be an original Cortez Silver, black deluxe interior car. The car was beautifully re-finished in its original color with base coat clear coat paint and with its hockey stick stripe painted on rather than a decal. It also has the black painted tail panel like all big blocks would have come with although in a semi gloss.
The original interior was also restored where needed and looks as good as the day it rolled off the assembly line. Since this was an early "69" (built in the second week of September) it does not have the X22 code stamped in the data plate. Chevy didn't add that code until mid-December production.
I do not have any documents with this car to prove that it was originally a big block. When it was purchased it was a car used by the previous owner for weekend drag racing. The motor is a 396 sourced from a 1967 Chevelle, the turbo 400 is from a pickup. All the major components have been rebuilt and there are a few "day two" type modifications.
Here are the highlights, but the car has to be seen to be appreciated.
