1965 Chevrolet Corvette Additional Info:
Up for you consideration is a 1965 Corvette that was a true barn find. It took me over 10 years to get the owner to let me in the barn to see her. There was so much dirt and bird droppings that I had to open the door to see what color she was. I intended on doing a full body off restoration on the car when I bought her, but after some cleaning and getting her running the more I could see that almost everything was still original and she had never been apart. So I changed my thoughts to making her driver. I have to many projects going so it's time to let her go.
She's optioned with:
Tinted glassTinted windshieldHardtop (missing)Positraction Rear EndPower Brakes300 Horse 327Powerglide TransmissionTelescopic Steering ColumnPower SteeringComfort and Convenience EquipmentRadio Delete
The right front corner has been bumped and the fenders have been cut out for the wide tires on her. In the rear they barely cut the lip off. The outside of the car was repainted along time ago, the door jams are all original paint. All glass is original even the windshield and all in good condition. Interior is very nice carpet not so much, but all are original. She starts, runs and shifts very good even if she is 52 years old. She's even been to a Crusin!
The overflow tank, voltage regulator, fan clutch, muffler, tailpipe tips, wheels and tires are the only parts NOT original. The hardtop is long gone and she's missing 1 bumper bracket on the front and the jack is missing. The convertible top needs replaced, but the frame looks to be in good shape. There's an 8 track in the glovebox with speakers in the panel behind the seats ( kinda still works). The clock, telescopic column and odometer do not work. One headlight only rolls over part way. Everything else works.
I had the master cylinder sleeved and rebuild, new front brake lines, hoses, calipers (I have the original) rotors and her water pump rebuilt. She comes with new rear rotors, rear brake hoses, leaf spring, plate, bolts & misc. Spare tire tube with lid and new bolts. Tube has 1 small crack about 1 inch long up where you can see it. Spare tire tim looks original with 2 nibs by the valve stem. Years ago someone resprayed the engine and the air cleaner Chevy engine orange.
The frame shows rust, with holes in the end caps by the rear kickups no other visible holes in the frame. Doors open close very nice with good gaps. Trailing arms do look a little weak. The front suspension needs to be rebuilt.
She's a very unique all numbers matching Radio delete high optioned Roadster with the original paint under an old paint job. Please look at all the pictures carefully.
