1970 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 454 Deluxe Additional Info:
I purchased this amazing vehiclein April 2011 and I am the second owner. It had a 1981 inspection sticker on the windshieldwhen I found it with 48,000 original miles. All the rubber hoses, belts, shocks, fuel pump, and tires including the spare were replaced. The carburetor was rebuilt and the original air conditioning compressor was rebuilt. The radiatorhas beenreconditioned. I do have new stainless covers on the side pipes. I have the original side pipe covers whichare easy to exchange if you wishto show the car as a survivor. The originalsidepipe covershave areas of the chrome plating which is flaking off. Everything works great on the car. The clock even runs occasionally. I drove it over 500 miles in one day with a friend. It was fun . We had no problems at all. All the vacuum systems work. All the hoses have been replaced. Lights pop up and down. The cover over the windshield wipers works great too. The electric windows also work. They are slow and work better with engine running.. The paint looks great. There are some minor chips and some patina. It still has theoriginal seals on the T-tops. They are weathered but I only had one minor drip when I got caught in the rain once. It has atilt and telescope steering wheel with power steering. The rear window is removable and stores above the T-tops in back. The original T-top covershave thedate code stamped inside them.It is a comfortable car to drive and has a lot of power and the A/C works great. The fiber optics look great at night. You will definitely turn some heads when you stomp on the gas. This was the only year of the high compression 454. The next year the compression was dropped and so did the horsepower due to emission controls. This one has 390 hp, 500 ft/lbs torque and 10.25:1 compression ratio which is printed on the factory plate below the shifter. The original carpet mats and deluxe woodgrain on doors still look good. The radio works great. The car has been gone over and tuned professionally. There are$10,000 in receipts for repairs after purchase. This is a very well preserved survivor car with the original paint and all the original number matching parts and engine in place.
