Up for your consideration is my 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air. I've owned this car for approximately four years and have taken it to many events throughout the southeast. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car anywhere. The car has a 235 6cyl backed up by a 3 speed manual transmission (column shift), power brakes and manual steering.Since my ownership I've added powerdisc brakes and 2.5" drop spindles along with 2" drop springs up front. The entire front end was rebuilt with Moog components (inner & outer tie rod ends, upper & lowercontrol arm bushings, upper & lower ball joints, and idler arm).Newhardlines were installed whenthe discbrake conversion was performed and the rear drum brakes have been rebuilt with all new components and newsoft lines leading to them. The rear was loweredwith cut springs(still rides great) and an adjustable panhard bar was added to center the rear end in the frame after lowering.New shocksall around. Thedrivetrain is stock other than a HEIdistributor from Langdon's stoveboltperformance. When it was installed new plugs, wires and coil were also installed.A new clutchkit was installed about two years backalong with a resurfaced flywheel. Wheels areoriginal GM 15x7's from a Caprice wrapped in new225/60/15 Falken Ziex tires. The whitewalls are Port-A-Wall inserts and the dogdish hubcaps are from a 64 model.
While the car does have many new parts, it does have it'sissues. There is rust in both rear quarter panels and thefloor pan has been patched (not professionally). Same goes for the trunk pan, nothing is going to be falling out but someone has used sheet metal screws to put patches in the corners. The car was repainted the original green color at some point in the past, it's a good10 footer but far from perfect. There are various nicks and scratchesand the painthassome sort of texture inspots. Being single stage the car will oxidize and I have to wax and polish it about once a year. When it's cleaned up, it shines really well, looks very sharp! The interior is all original except for the carpet, which has been replacedby someone other than me.The seats are ripped and the headliner isripped.
Overall this is a great cruiser. Load up your friends and family and take it anywhere. I've taken it on numerous 3+ hourtrips and it's always done great and gottendecent gas mileage.I love this old car but I've got a C10 in the paint shop that's about to come home and there's not enough room in the garage for both of them without kicking out my better half's car! As tempting as that may sound, I also like having a place to sleep. Ask any questions BEFORE bidding. I'm happy to take any additional pictures that I'm able to. The car is located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Upon winning bid a $500 non refundabledeposit is required within 48 hours.
