1962 Chevrolet Impala SS
Style: 62-1847
This is a 1962 Chevrolet Super Sport 409/409 in need of total restoration. Perfect for a body-shopor body-man.
Original Color: Ermine White, Paint 936, Interior Red, Trim 875
VIN: 21847B269660
Engine ID: B269660 TOI25QB
Engine Casting: 3788068 (Solid Lifter)
Engine Build Date Code: A2362
Engine rebuilt by Tysons Machine, Sterling, VA
It appears to have most parts for complete restoration with the exception of the original air cleaner, right front fender (I have two lefts) and tachometer. I have new full length quarter panels, 2 extra doors, and an extra trunk-lid. New heavy duty 409 front springs. Bumpers are all re-chromedwith new center panels. Large exhaust manifolds.
I bought this car from an auto restoration shop 28 years ago and never really started on its restoration. The VIN number and the engine stamping codes match. All the casting date codes precede the assembly date, but, I cannot verify or guarantee that it is a matching numbers car. It has a 3/8” fuel line all the way back to the fuel tank, indicating it was constructed as a 409 car.
It has original SS hubcaps, side trim, grill, T-3 headlights, headlight buckets/trim, new reproduction battery cables, correct GM hoses with markings, correct hose clamps, SS trunk panel, original interior including floor shift plate and grab bar. It has the correct carburetors, starter, generator, and dual point distributor.
