1978 Chevrolet G20 Van Nomad Additional Info:
This is a 1978 G10 Chevy Nomad. 350, Four Barrel. It was mildly customized in the late 70's, by the original 60 year old owners. I am the third owner, and can verify this. It has 110,000 original miles, I can verify that as well with maintenance records. Last owner before me is a retired firefighter here in town. He bought the van from the original owner, and best friend's Widow in KY. Adult owned it's whole life, and never wrecked, hot-rodded or abused. No dents or dings are present. I have well over $5,000.00 in maintenance receipts dating back from 2012, to present. Always had it meticulously maintained regularly, and it had an oil change last week. Any time it needed anything, it was done to it. I personally, since I have owned it have put all new door seals, all new window seals, window felts and runs, new carpet on the floor, a $1000.00 paint job that looks decent until you give it a two foot, close examination. A full tune up, oil pan gasket, manifold gasket, valve cover gaskets, true dual exhaust from the manifold back, tires, including a good spare, brakes, CD, Galaxy CB in the Swing-down, overhead dash. It also has a Reese hitch and trailer brake. (Only pulled our 1900lb pop up three times, and pulls like a dream.) The old van does not leak, or use any fluids whatsoever, guaranteed. I could go on and on about how great a van this is, but I would rather someone just come look at it and see for themselves. I guarantee you will not be wasting your time. Looks much nicer than pictures show. I truly believe you could fly in from anywhere, and drive this home to anywhere. The previous owner has driven the van to Pennsylvania a of couple times to see his Son, and New Mexico at least once, so it is safe to say, mostly highway miles. It runs, idles, drives straight down the road like a new one, guaranteed. No kids, pets, or smoking in this van. All pop out windows work and latch as new with no rattles. The rear windows have sliders with screens in the lower portion of the windows. It has factory rear heat, and air. The air however, needs recharged every year, so there is a leak somewhere. The ONLY thing to tell you is the voltmeter gauge and the temp gauge both went out simultaneously in March. Volts are perfect as well as temp Just a short, I would reckon. I just have not gotten it into the mechanic yet. There is a tiny amount of surface rust starting at each lower fender well above the exhaust outlet. I have 420 pictures of this van, from every angle and before paint, and during install of different parts and such on my phone. I have recently taken out the original buckets which I have, and replaced with quick release captains chairs. I have the original front seats and the original bench. The original paneling is still under the carpet on the walls in back. Just a great old vintage custom, 39 year old NOMAD that will make someone a fine van. The ONLY reason I am selling it is I just bought a one ton, extended van, to turn into an actual camper. I'm not hard up, and do not need to sell it, but would REALLY like someone to give it a good home. If you are STILL reading this, please don't hesitate to send me a message if you are truly interested.
