Highly Collectable and extremely rare MKC4 edition corvette. One of the rarest RPO production corvettes ever made by GM with only 50 cars produced to commemorate the life of one of the most successful corvette dealers and friend of GM in it's history. GM has never before or after commissioned a Corvette for a dealership,GM said NO MORE EVER after the blow back and complaints that they received from several owners of other dealerships because of this one!.
Furthermore, of the original 50, 20 had the 4/3 DN manual transmission and the remaining 30 were automatics, now of the 30 automatics just 10 came equipped with the Z51 sport suspension which brought the larger diameter sway bars, stiffer suspension, Bilstein yellow performance shocks, larger rear tires, transmission oil cooler ans much more.
Now of these cars even fewer had the G92 performance axle with option G44 that brings the 3.07:1 gear ratio which beats the pants off the line compared to the regular 2.73.This car has the Z51 sport suspension package with that performance axle option. I have driven many C4s and this one pulls like a tractor of the line. That rear gear performance option makes a huge difference off the line and it still cruises well at highway speeds, The car really scoots.See if any of the other Mk Corvettes for sale offer these options, I doubt it.
When I saw this car in person I fell in love and I just had to buy it, the color combination is striking in that silver beige over black, the graphite interior and glass top is beautiful as well. Everything works, AC is cold and she Still smells like a new C4 and I know what they smelled like new back in the day because as a teeneger I went to dealerships to test drive them and eventually owned 4 of them by the time I was 30. Now I have had many corvettes, Porsches, Dodge Vipers, Svt Lightning, etc. so I know performance. This car is up there with them all in driving pleasure and it gets looks everywhere she goes, younger kids do not know what this car is but the older folks like myself know exactly what it is. The car is a great conversation piece and needs to be on display. Sitting in my garage under a car cover is not what this car deserves so Its my hope that a buyer will put this on display in their collection. It will do you proud I promise.
Whereas, completely stock and original except for a new and correct cat back factory exhaust,The wheels were refinished in the 1985 black centers for some reason but all 4 tires are brand new and the rims have no curbing or damage like new. The Owners manual, books, records, build sheets, window sticker, dealer brochure from konner corvette, konner sales invoice, GM cassette, Corvette magazine with MK article and more are included. This rare MK C4 is a true time capsule and in Mint condition,you can eat off the engine,the interior and the exterior is even cleaner, like I said smells new inside, not cancer sticks and you wont find one for the money like this one. How many Konner corvettes survived the last 3 decades and are still in existence? how many are in disarray and need repair, restoration, etc? How many 30 year old cars have 18k miles??
