If it weren't for the occasional F-1, F100, or Dodge Warlock and Red Express I have had over the years, one would think my blood ran Chevy Blue! I am a HUGE fan of the trucks, from the 40's right on up until today, and actually just turned my 2nd 2500HD over the 300K mile mark without issue!
The 67-72 body style has always been a personal favorite, and when this awesome looking show truck was offered to me, I couldn't pass it up!
This one is about as clean as you could ask for with a Southern Heritage that took it from Tennessee to Georgia and then Florida over the past decade or so, and the VIN shows that it was built in Atlanta too. Pretty sure this one hasn't been too far North of the Mason-Dixon line in its lifetime!
Power comes from a Chevrolet Performance 350ci ZZ4 engine with aluminum intake and heads, and an Edelbrock 4-barrel carb.
We did a fluid service, installed new belts, plugs, plug wires, and had the carb master, John Murray clean and tune the carb to perfection. It runs like a champ.
It is nicely dressed with enough shiny stuff, billet, and new items to make you proud to lift louvered hood at car shows, and it shows remarkably clean and well-detailed throughout underneath the hood.
Headers feed into a dual exhaust system that sounds nice and mellow, but doesn't get to loud in the cabin for long trips.
Front disc brakes and rear drums pull the truck down from speed quickly and easily, without any pulling or excessive fade.
Power steering works perfectly, and the truck is so easy to handle and turn that anyone in the family can drive it!
A 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission shifts super smooth, and has a final drive that lets you cruise at 85mph without even working the motor at all! This is a highway cruising, mile-eating machine, and I have personally driven it from Ft Myers to Kissimmee twice without any incidents or issues, and hit speeds of 90mph on the freeway and cruised just fine. I would drive it anywhere.
A/C is an under dash slim fit unit, and it works perfectly! The system is all R134A since it was installed, and has no known leaks or issues. All fan speed settings work as they should, but the first setting will chill the cab to the bone, so be careful!
Chassis is clean, rust and rot free, and has no known issues, but it is NOT an ISCA Show Truck that you want to put mirrors under.
There is a box hitch installed at the rear of the truck, and it appears as though you have to remove the plate holder section from the bumper with a few bolts to access it with your trailer.
The truck runs and drives great, doesn't stutter, stumble, or have any running issues.
It handles FANTASTIC, and has a ride that is firm enough to be aggressive with it on back roads, but soft enough to make a two-hour cruise easy too.
It tracks perfectly straight, and doesn't pull or drift while driving it.
I have put a lot of seat time in on this truck, and I would seriously not hesitate to fly in and drive it home anywhere in the lower 48. It's a long hauler.
Open the doors, and you get a nice, stock, and clean interior that shows really well.
Door panels, seats, and headliner all share the same pattern, and look fantastic too, with no cracks, rips, splits, tears, or seam pulls evident.
Sun visors are clean, neat, and functional.
Window rollers and door pulls are shiny and nice and function perfectly.
6x9 custom speakers are mounted in each door, and they, along with the other hidden speakers, sound amazing in the truck!
Polished door sills look great, and hold down the black automotive weave carpeting that is installed over a layer of sound and heat proofing. Carpeting shows like new, with no issues, and the truck comes with the heavy duty rubber mats shown in the photos too.
Black padded dash shows like new, and painted parts of the cab are clean and nice as well.
Factory original gauge cluster is in good condition, and houses a full set of functional gauges for SPEEDOMETER, FUEL LEVEL, OIL PRESSURE, BATTERY, and ENGINE TEMP. The odometer shows 69,751 miles and is fully functional, but the title shows EXEMPT in the mileage section, so I can't say if it is original or not.
Since the modern climate system was installed, a custom PIONEER AM/FM/CD/MP3/USB/Ipod capable stereo head unit was installed in the former heater control area. It sounds amazing, and works just like it should.
A factory radio delete plate resides in the original stereo spot, the ashtray opens and closes as it should, and the 12V cigar lighter works too.
Glovebox opens to a full cardboard liner, and holds an OEM owner manual for the truck.
Tilt column works as it should, and the original steering wheel is in very good condition save for a handful of little marks.
Overall, the interior of the truck is exceptionally nice, and has all the comforts you could ask for.
Outside, the paint is still shiny and cool looking, and the teal over cream paint has caught more than a few peoples camera lens at shows and events.
It is split with a hand painted stripe that ties both colors together nicely, and goes down the entire side of the truck.
Louvered hood looks great, and sets the truck apart from the pack.
The paint is in really condition all around, and the truck has the little marks and blemishes you expect from a 10 year old finish on a truck that actually gets driven and enjoyed, not parked in a warehouse.
Worst spots are top of tailgate where some heavier paint chips show, paint runs on the bottom middle of driver door, bubbling on the rear lower of driver door, and light crackling of the finish on the cowl (where the wipers go) panel. The bubbled spot is NOT soft or brittle to the touch. The rest of the truck shows nicely, and is glossy and wet looking with just the light normal marks like tiny stone chips or little scuffs.
LOOK AT THE 75 PHOTOS, AND WATCH THE WALK-AROUND VIDEO AND YOU WILL GET A REALLY GOOD GRASP OF WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE IN PERSON.
The stuff I am talking about isn't horrific by any means, and I am certain that more than a few other sellers wouldn't even bring them up. I notice them, and I want to make sure you know they are on the truck too.
The body is solid steel, and has no sign of bondo panels, chicken wire, beer cans, or aluminum foil to be found in it. A 4 inch square felt magnet sticks like glue on the whole painted exterior.
Bed is finished in a color-matched Rhino Liner style spray, but it is so thin that you can still see that the bed is solid, clean, and rust/rot free.
Truck bed has marks from being used as a truck bed.
Tail gate opens and closes as it should, and is rust/rot free as well.
The truck rides on 20" chrome wheels which look fantastic from 5 feet, but do show some patina and chrome roughness when you get right up close. I was going to replace the wheels but figured that whoever buys it can decide what wheel they want, or just keep these on it. Like I said, unless you get right up to them, you can't see the little issues.
Tires are like new all around, and have at least 95% of the useable tread life remaining on them. They are size 255/45R20 and are clean and issue free.
Chrome and aluminum trim on the truck is in great or better condition, and only shows light signs of age while still looking great from 3 feet or 10 yards away.
Glass is all good with no cracks or chips.
Rubber trim is all good and feels soft to the touch.
All of the lights are clean, undamaged, and work as they should, including the headlights, hi beams, parking lights, marker lights, turn signals, and hazard lamps. Wipers work as they should too, as does the dash light.
If you are looking for a really cool Chevy C10 to drive regularly but still take to shows and events, this is the truck for you.
It is a really nice example of a straight and clean steel body with all the right upgrades and extras, and is in excellent operational order too.
