Nowadays the pick up truck has transcended the utilitarian vehicle and become an integral part of American pop culture…
…and this Chevrolet C10 epitomises the concept of a simple machine exuding super-cool. It was owned by the vendor’s father for many years, until it passed to them when their father moved and no longer needed the truck couple of years ago. Dad had a lot of work done to the truck with a comprehensive mechanical overhaul including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension and electrical systems. The truck runs great! It has good responsive power and shifts well. Brakes pull the truck up well and in a straight line, while power steering works as it should. All electrical systems work perfectly. The AC system blows cold. The 15” Crager wheels have 235/60 and 275/60 tires with plenty of tread remaining.
Cosmetically, the truck has been left with cool patina. Painted some years ago in the yellow seen here, the truck is suitably marked all over, as can be seen in the photos. There are scuffs and dings, but it’s cool.
The truck has some great features: cold AC, auto transmission and a long bed: a rare combination. It has a great stereo system, but at this time, the head unit fascia is missing. Also, the passenger door opening mechanism is inop.
This is an excellent example of a piece of American iconic cool, offered in excellent mechanical condition and ready to drive anywhere.
