1968 Chevrolet El Camino -- Additional Info:
1968 Chevrolet El Camino. Full frame off restoration with no bolt left unturned. Restoration was completed 6 years a go on an excellent solid AZ car. The only rust it had were the floor pans from sitting outside for years with leaky window seals. They were properly replaced with a 1 piece pan, not sections for the correct look underneath. Otherwise the body was clean and rust free. All of the body and paintwork were professionally done. Repainted in the cars correct original color "D-D" Grotto blue. Dupont 2 stage paint was used for that extra deep finish and added durability. Vehicle was color sanded and buffed throughout to obtain a "glass" finish. Body is very straight, door and hood gaps are nice and even. Bed was completely Rhino Lined for durability, and was painted like the car underneath. Interior was completely replaced. All new reproduction seat covers, console, dash, headliner, doorpanels, and carpet. All gauge clusters and bezels are new. 120mph speedo and tach. Smaller diameter steering wheel on a tilt column. Custom autosound am fm stereo with upgraded speakers in the kick panels and I pod hookup. Every seal and piece of weatherstripping is new on the car. All glass is new except for the vent windows, car has power windows. Every piece of chrome and stainless was either refinished or replaced with new. All new wiring harness. Engine is a rebuilt 400 small block with upgraded electronic ignition, edelbrock performer intake, and 700cfm Holley carb with electric choke. Full roller Hydraulic Cam and rocker arms. Block was modified to eliminate cooling issues. Engine was dyno tested in car and made 340 rear wheel horsepower with 404 ft. lbs. of torque. Hooker headers were jet hot coated, aluminized dual exhaust with flowmaster mufflers. Belt system upgraded to modern serpentine system with all modern components. R4 134A AC compressor, high amp alternato, etc. Heavy duty radiator is also new. Vehicle has Hydroboost power brakes, power steering, and Vintage Air AC and Heat. Disc brakes up front. Suspension was completely rebuilt front and back. Heavy duty sway bars on both ends of the car. 12 bolt posi rear end with a 3.31 gear. Engine is backed by a rebuilt turbo 400 with shift kit and 2200 stall convertor. Rolls on rally rims and bfg tires that are in great condition. This superb El Camino has only logged under 3300 miles since its completion. All the bugs have been worked out and it is ready to enjoy. Runs fantastic hot or cold, no need to feather the throttle when first starting, it idles right away. Floor it going 30mph and it will downshift as it should and burn up the rear tires, this El Camino is fast and reliable!
