Here at Streetside Classics, e're lucky enough to find the nicest old trucks in the south, nd this 1972 Chevrolet C10 is no exception. Coming from a warm, ry climate, ou know it's clean, nd a strong-running 350, owered stance, nd gorgeous bright blue paint make it just a little nicer than your average pickup. We're seeing more and more of these trucks getting complete makeovers, nd someone obviously spend a good chunk of change getting this one into shape. Fortunately, his truck needed very little surgery to look this good, nd while the paint is a few years old, t still has a deep shine that looks just right on the vintage pickup. They did things right and it's obvious that most of the trim was removed for the respray, olished up, nd reinstalled to add to its well-dressed look. The short bed and regular cab are arguably the best combination for appearance reasons, nd it gives the truck relatively compact dimensions so it's easy to handle around town and still carries everything you can throw at it from the lumber yard. And speaking of hauling, he bed is remarkably well preserved, ith very little evidence of having been a work truck in its past, nd it's been treated to a spray-in bedliner for durability, o don't be afraid to put it to work now and then. The interior is basic, s you'd expect, ut there are a few upgrades that make it fun to drive. The bench seat carries a dark blue vinyl seat cover that might just be original, lthough it's in pretty darned nice shape if that's the case. The dash and door panels are in excellent condition, ffering body-colored details to make it all work together, nd the factory instrument panel includes speed and fuel level, ith a pair of aftermarket temperature and oil pressure gauges under the center of the dash. The original radio is long gone, eplaced by a powerful AM/FM/cassette stereo that's a vast improvement over the factory AM unit, nd it powers speakers in the custom kick panels. The steering wheel has an old-school performance look that's period-correct for something coming out of 1972, ut has a deep dish and a fat rim, o it feels great in your hands. Recent black carpets help control noise and heat and give the blue-collar pickup a slightly upscale feel. The engine is a mildly cam'd 350 cubic inch V8, ebuilt and ready for another 40 years of reliable service. The monochromatic engine bay looks tidy and offers upgrades like an Edelbrock intake manifold and 4-barrel carburetor, new power brake booster, nd a big alternator, nd there are electric fans on the radiator to keep things cool. Long tube headers dump into a custom-built dual exhaust system that gives it a suitably aggressive bark. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission equipped with a shift kit, ower steering, nd power brakes all make this a truck you can drive every day if that's your thing. The suspension features 2-inch lowering springs all around to give it that sleek stance without an abusive ride, nd new shocks all around certainly help. Polished aluminum wheels (8" wide up front, 0" wide in the rear) always look great, specially when surrounded by beefy 15-inch blackwall radials that complement the stance perfectly. If you're looking for a handsome, lean old truck that runs well and offers plenty of style, ou've just found it.
