1969 Chevrolet El Camino SS Additional Info:
A couple years ago, I bought this ROCK SOLID 1969 California El Camino that was a Barn find rolling chassis with 71K approx. on the Bright Blue body ( under a black paint thats keeping the solid body preserved).
The guy I bought it from was a Chevelle & El Camino enthusiast who found a 1967 396 Engine that was freshly rebuilt and mated to a 4 Speed which was gone thru, Stainless Brake lines & new Disc Brake Setup were installed and the original 12 bolt Posi rear end, with Hedman headers & short 2 inch exhaust ahead of rear end. I have the original CA Title that shows it was last registered in CA back in 1985.
I drove the truck home in a snow storm from New York and it's been stored since. You can see that in the pictures as we were getting fuel along the way home!
At that time I bought it, the engine had about 100 miles on it... I have run it on a few occasions over the last 2 years to have fun and have changed the oil with Camshaft Wear Additive & it has 500 - 600 miles on it now.... Drives Awesome. Power Galore....
This is a way Cool El Camino that I hate to see go, but I really have no time for it and am caring for my dying 83 year old father....
Since listing this, some questions have come up over Body condition so, here are the details. Frame is MINT... Floors are Solid, Bed is SOLID... Driver's quarter behind wheel well was damaged and pulled and has some bondo, but not rotted. Passenger Quarter is Rock Solid & very straight, minor dings. Doors are SOLID... Fenders are original & the driver's side has a quarter sized rust area on bottom where the water settles behind the support strut on backside, low... Easy repair. Tailgate is ROCK SOLID...
I have taken all front & rear glass stainless trim off & cleaned out the areas that are usually areas for hidden rot... There is no rot.... I have temporarily taped them off with Aluminum HVAC tape to keep them mint ready for prepping for paint.
Aluminized 2 inch Exhaust from Hedman Headers to mini hi-flow mufflers is throaty sounding and still new. Engine breathes beautifully. Wide ratio 4 speed with a 1st that is very low gear. You can roll off the clutch at an idle and run it to 25-30mph, 2nd is good to 50mph, 3rd is good to 80+ and 4th is like an overdrive... At 75, It is mid 2k's rpm in 4th gear I'd guess, so it sounds like. Hope that answers the questions. Its a solid Collector Grade Vehicle to Paint & Enjoy.... Well worth the effort to paint, seeing the drive line is basically new and the Body is documented from California with previous Title and shows it.
$500 Deposit is required with Buy It Now & remaining Balance must be Cash or Bank Transfer. No Checks. I can easily move vehicle to a large Irving Gas Station near zip code 03256 where tractor trailer services are and its a easy place to load for transporting.
Thanks for Bidding.
