“The make more people depend on”
“Jet Smooth Chevrolet”
Drive as is, r take it to the next level…As the VIN will show this was originally a 6cyl/3sp car. It came to me from N.C. as a straight 6, he previous owner swapped the 3 speed column shift for a 4 speed. His plan was obvious, s the car came with a 327 block, eads and crank. Although there was nothing wrong with the original drive line and the body was so straight, decided to move forward with the swap.
With very little effort this ‘Cruiser’ could be transformed into the iconic 60’s “X frame” hot rod. The 2 door Biscayne was considered by many as the perfect base for the street or strip, simple no frills…”working man’s sedan” it still has an unmolested dash, adio delete plate in tact…I leave it up to you how it gets finished. But driving it around as is turns plenty of heads! And it sounds great!
Although it’s no longer a numbers matching car, he original driveline is available and comes with the car should the listing price be met. There is a host of new parts (see below) and some parts that will also come with the car. If I were to keep the car, b>suspension would be next in line, b>power steering and then disc brake upgrade.

Exterior & Undercarriage
The body, nd all trim are in good/very good shape. The picture will show the areas that had rust repair prior to the recent spray (~Spring of 2015). The 4 small areas of rust were in common areas for this model. Front fenders behind wheel and front corner of doors. After all repairs were complete, fair/good spray job was done. All brightwork is in present and intact. Bumpers are in good/very good condition free from pitting. The frame and underside of body is also free from rust and rot. I have a custom fit car cover that will keep it this way.
Interior & Glass
Seems to be an older restoration of the seat covers, oor panels and package tray…all in fair to good shape. All glass is clear of blemishes and or cracks. All regulators operate as they should. I did have a legal shade (30%) professionally installed less than a month ago. The carpet is showing a bit of age, ut is in fair condition. The period correct Hurst shifter mates well with the bench seat. Speedometer/odometer work. New gauges mounted under dash…Temp/Volt/Oil. Also have a Tachometer, hould be installed but if not will come with the car.
Electrical
For a 53 year old vehicle the electrical gremlins I was expecting weren’t as bad as I thought they’d be. Headlights, ail lights and turning indicators all work, am working on a potential ground issue with the left front marker/turn signal…probably a bad/rusty ground. The wipers do not operate presently, ut I hope to have corrected soon. As I mentioned above, replaced the ignition/engine harness and replaced the resistor wire from ignition to coil when I updated the distributor. The bulkhead connector was giving me a little trouble, ’ve since pulled it cleaned both connectors and haven’t had a problem since. I installed all new “Painless” ground strapping. Headlights are strong with no dimming.
Tires, heels and Brakes
Unidentified Chrome Rims 14” are wrapped with BF Goodrich Radial TA’s (P245/60R14) with 95% tread life. I inspected the brakes…drums & shoes look new, nd the power booster provides surprisingly great stopping power.
Extras
Included and not installed are:
· Visors (have sailcloth material)
· Period correct fan shroud (needs blasted and painted) Car currently runs at a cool 180 degrees at modest highway speeds, t heats up ~215 degrees in stop and go traffic, hroud should take care of this.
· Power Steering Pump, ulley and brackets
· Original 230 I6 and transmission (if listing price is met)
