1934 Chevrolet Other Pickups Additional Info:
1934 Chevy pickup. I found this truck in Yuma, Arizona. It looks like someone may have painted it many years ago. The sheetmetal is very good, not excellent. I know of no bond, have seen no rust, no big dents, breaks, cracks. 12v headlights. The doors both open and close easily, the wood is good except for the two very lower pieces at the cab corners. The windows all work including the windshield. The cowl vent works. New gas tank. The bed has been changed to a piece of plywood, I have new bed metal runners. The frame and suspension seem straight and good for unrestored. It has hydrolic drum brakes that work well and don't seep. Now for the rest of the story: You can see from the pictures I have done some remodeling. I installed a completely rebuilt chevy 6 - It is a 250 block with a Tom Langdon 235 head, modified intake, cast exhaust. A little about Tom:Tom Langdon brings to Stovebolt many years of serving the Inliners International as president and technicaladviserfor Chevrolet 194, 230, 250 and 292 engines. In addition he has raced, rodded, designed and tested virtually every General Motors inline gasoline engine in his 37 years as an engine development engineer for Chevrolet and General Motors Powertrain. The engine has twin carbs, rerodded radiator, new clutch with a rebuilt Getrag transmission. Hanging pedals, 12 vol, electronic ignition. 5 -New radial tiresThe truck starts marvelously, runs smooth and strong. Truck drives straight and stops straight. Will run right down the road with the traffic. I'd say about 60+ is fast enough though. There is a new fuse cluster and several unused runs. What negatives I know: New gas tank has filler on opposite side from original, so the original hole remains. The dash guages are 6v and I have not installed step down to make them work. There are underdash oil and temp hooked up with charge guage that is not hooked up. Tailight is original with 12v bulb. It "works". The seat sits a little saggy along the edge of the driver side. I have never hooked up electric to the heater fan. $500.00 Deposit due at auction close. Balance due within 3 business days. I can hold the truck inside for one week from auction close for free. Longer than that - we can talk. I do not have this vehicle for sale in other locations or local until this auction closes, so you don't need to worry about me yanking it off.Feel free to contact me with questions.
