1957 Chevrolet Other Pickups short step side bed Additional Info:
Ok here it is, a 1957 chevy short step side bed. I bought this truck at a Herold Lemay auction it Tacoma Washington years ago. This was not his vehicle it came out of the Hansen collection. I have had many of these trucks in the past but found out how hard they are to come by let alone never taken apart and with very little rust. This truck was stored in doors since the 70s and as the plate reflects last time it was registered was almost 40 years ago. It was not a farm truck sitting in the weeds for ever. In fact it does not look like it was even a work truck its not all beat up. there are some bumps and bruises but very nice. It was orig green in color as you can see from the fire wall and painted red around the 60s or so. As you know 57s are a one year only hood and grill. Looks like a large mouth bass. I have three of the original rims. The truck had two old white spoke rims which I tossed and put the rallies on it. I wont have time to get to this due to other projects. I am down sizing some of my vehicles to work on my nomad. I know I wont find one like this with out paying $$$$$. I removed the tank, cleaned it out. checked all the tune up stuff added a new fuel pump and cleaned the carb and it started up. the block is stamped re-manufactured. I did put marvel mystery oil in the cylinders and hand cranked it over for a few days before trying to start. The truck starts and runs but will need a complete tune up and complete brake job. I had to actually bang the rear drums off to make the truck roll. This is a project truck but not rusty floor boards, doors or the really heavy typical rust out. You will not have to find new doors or fender to restore or use this truck as is. As everyone knows these are hard to come buy. I am open to inspection and more photos on request. Not trades and vehicle does not leave till full payment has been received. Also include with the truck is the very rare hard to find original spare tire lock. There is no key for it but I have never ever seen one they are usually lost or tossed. Still sports the original jack and handle. The plates on the truck do not go with the truck. They have been removed and are not avail. Please ask questions before bidding I want to make sure all questions are answered. More photos on request.
