For you consideration is a fairly original 1960 290HP option FI Corvette with rare Big Brakes package. I bought this car 24 years ago. I have not done anything to the car in preparation for this sale....what you see is what you get. No new paint, etc. to cover up imperfections. I take care of my stuff. I'm selling now because my new "downsized" house will only take two cars in the garage. My 1963 Split Window gets one of those spots, and another C1 gets the other spot. I drive it often (never in weather or winter) and do all maintenance myself. I have put about 10,000 miles on it over the past 24 years. Other than a clutch, I have had nothing done to the car in all those years. The engine is the original engine that came with the car when new. Transmission numbers match also. Correct Original Numbers Matching 290hp 283ci Fuel Injection block. Rochester Fuel Injection is long gone. A Rochester 4-barrel carburator is currently mounted up to the engine. Positraction rear end. Rebuilt Soft-top frame and latches...has new tack-strips already installed...has new seals and complete set of weather stripping installed using new hardware. A new Al Knoch white top is also included. I did not mount it up yet because buyer may want another color of their own choosing? All engine detailing is correct and in excellent condition. It has the original 4-speed Borg Warner T10 manual transmission. The interior is original (and still in great shape!) and has all the correct gauges, door panels, carpet. Has Wonderbar radio option....still pulls in stations, and the buttons and even the Wonderbar search works. The tuning knob does not work though. Original antenna. The heater and fan works. All of the gauges, wipers, headlights, turn signals, interior lights, work. Horns need to be rebuilt. Clock is original and complete, but does not work. You will look long and hard to find a 1960 corvette which runs this well and is so dialed-in! The original engine runs strong and starts right up. It still has the correct exhaust choke which works great. Runs cool, never hot. Has original hub caps. Tires are Coker Wide-White Radials....has unused matching Coker spare tire also. Original Jack. Newer battery. The RPO 687 brake components are mostly there (see drum/backplate/fan pictures....missing rear drums and rear fans). Car has all four big brakes screen-vented backplates. Back plates also have screen covers. Still has the correct master cylinder This 1960 vette is turn-key. You can drive anywhere.....this car drives like new. One of the best running and driving C1 vettes out there. Car looks great still. Chrome is OK. Stainless is excellent. Emblems are good. Paint is 30 years old, has some age imperfections, some chips. Has stress cracks in the usual areas...on the passenger side front fender stress cracks are the worst. Its a great driver quality paint. Investment quality highly desirable combination which can be enjoyed as-is or can be taken to the next level in that it is an EXCELLENT CANDIDATE for full RPO-687 restoration Sold as-is.
