1948 Chevrolet Other 1/2 ton Additional Info:
Up for auction is this 1948 Chevrolet truck. This truck belongs to a close personal friend that has a serious illness...and that illness is O.C.D.(Old Cars Disease), and i'm trying to help save him(from his wife). This Truck was purchased by him recently in a package deal and although i feel this truck was the better part of the deal, he has chosen the 1957 to keep so this one needs to go since he has no place to keep it .
This truck has had a lot of work done to get it were it is toda, unfortunately, we dont have much history on it other than whats obvious and some of those mods are:Rebuilt Camaro front sub frame with drop spindles and disc brakes, later model rear end with disc brake, rear coil overs, front and rear sway bars just to name the big stuffit appears to be a gen 3 LS 5.3 and 4l60e thats been Carb'd and using the MSD ignition Controller. The motor is clean with no noticeable leaks and no smoke, it starts right up as it should with a very deep and throaty sound from the dual exaust, it has been dressed up with a vintage louvered air cleaner among other items, it also sports power steering and power brakes .The transmission seems fine with correct fluid level and fluid is nice and pink with no odor or contamination. The interior is done in a gray leather/ vynl type fabric and are bucket seats. it is floor shifted and although the shifter works it is a pain in the ass to use. it is some type of race shifter that you have to pull up, push down, squeeze, trigger twis, hold your tongue just right, and lean over to use SO a new Lokar vintage classic shifter is included. there is a trio gauge cluster mounted under the dash because original do not work..BUT a new vintage bolt in remake is included that have all sensors and transducers, they go right in the original holes for a clean retro look. there is a Cd player in the dash now but no speakers have been installed. also there is a lokar gas pedal assy. included to help dress the interior
i have never been much good at describing these things but i am some what knowledgeable mechanically so ask questions and request pics if needed. i will do my very best to answer your questions and get pics up in a timely manner.
it does have a clear title in my friends name and is licensed and insured in is name as well so no transfer issues. i am basically retired so if local, and would like to come drive it feel tree to let me know and we can get you out here.
