This is one of those projects that I started with great intentions but never got around to finishing. I purchased a 1964 Chevelle, Malibu SS, 2 door hardtop back in the early 90s. It was a running car and looked average for it’s age and use. When I tore it apart, I discovered mass amounts of rust damage that rendered both the main body and frame unusable. I purchased a 1964 Pontiac Beaumont body which is the same as the Chevelle, except for trim holes and taillights. The Beaumont body has a very good floor but needs the new outer wheel wells installed, also a partial quart on the passenger side, a full quarter on the drive’s side and the truck pan. I have secured with sheet metal screws a full quarter as needed, a partial quarter as needed, a three piece trunk pan and outer wheel wells. As well, I retained the Chevelle tail lights that will need to be fitting to the Beaumont body. I also retained Chevelle trunk lid, and the Chevelle front clip At the rear of the rear inner wheel wells there was some rust which has been removed and patch panels will need to be fabricated and installed. There is metal there from the original Chevelle to help create those patch panels.
In short there is most everything needed including a title and serial number plate to build a 1964 Chevelle SS, 327 4 speed car. The frame is straight, has a 10 bolt posi dif that needs rebuilding as there is a tooth broken out of the crown gear. I used the drive shaft for another project so there is no drive shaft. The gear box is an M20 wide ratio removed from a 1965 Corvette but will require a rebuild kit. I have a period correct 327 motor less heads, and the block was cleaned and inspected and determined reusable . The frame is clean and straight and has already been converted to a power disc brake set up using 1972 Pontiac parts. There are eleven 1964 Chevelle, Impala wheel discs, extra quarter windows, rear glass but windshield was damaged so removed. Also included is the correct rear G. M. defogger which are becoming more difficult to located. There is the correct 64 Chevelle four speed console which are also difficult to locate and appear to be fetching large dollars. There are the four original bumper guards which were an option item and are also difficult to locate. There is no shifter or shifter linkage but it is reproduced and the clutch/brake pedal assemble with fire wall mount is there but no actual clutch linkage, which is also reproduced. New interior will need to be installed but the door panels, front bucket seats and rear bench seat are all there. The original Chevelle was a power steering, power brake set up and those features remain. The wiring harness has all been removed due to condition but replacement harnesses are available and most of the original harness is with the parts. Much of the outside trim was in moderate to poor condition and needs to be refurbished or replaced. The front clip is off the original 64 Chevelle but the rear of the two front fenders need patch panels installed. There chevy valve covers, original 4 barrel air filter housing, correct radio, assembly manual and much more. The parts alone are worth much more then I am wanting for this vehicle. These are great cars coming in at about 3200 pounds GVW which makes them a great muscle car. They also have coil springs at all four corners which make them great for bagging.
I should mention that I am not willing to sell individual parts, but if you purchase the vehicle and send a carrier for pick up, I will assist with loading if required.
