In 1980 GM produced 40,614 corvettes of which only 5,069 were the 230hp L82 and the remainder were either 180hp or 190hp L48’s. The 1980 L82 was the highest performance HP rating since 1974 and higher than 1981 and 1982, which is the last of the C3 generation.
