1959 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster
This is a complete 1959 Corvette project car that runs and drives with a NOM 327 V-8 engine with casting number-3782870 (1962-1965 Corvette or passenger car), casting date-F1263, and 4-speed transmission. The lights, turn signals, horn, and brakes are all functional. It was recently acquired from a gentleman whose family has owned the car for 30 plus years and has been in storage. His uncle owned the car approximately 25 years and drove the car a lot in the 1980s. This was when the engine was rebuilt and the generator was replaced with an alternator. Chrome engine accessories were added, and the radio changed. The miles on the engine since that time are unknown, however it runs well with good oil pressure and does not smoke. The following things have recently been completed to get it running and ready to sell. The fuel tank was drained and flushed, new fuel pump, new fuel filter, new Holley 600cfm carb with electric choke, brakes checked and repaired as needed. This would be great for a restoration project, a perfect resto-mod candidate, or a fun a- is patina daily driver. However, if you wanted to use it as a daily driver, it would need a new exhaust system, the radiator would have to be repaired or replaced because it seeps. The paint has been spotted in over the years and is flaking in many areas. The driver door glass is cracked, the chrome is all there, but most of it has pitting. The interior is all there, but it shows its age. The body appears to be a no- hit body, but the passenger fender has had an old repair from what appears to be from a blowout tire (see photos). The bottom of the radiator support, battery tray, and metal inner fender supports under the battery tray location have rust (see photos). If you are looking for a fun project or just a patina driver, please take a look. The payment must be made within 7 days of auctions end.
