1926 Chevrolet Other Pickups Additional Info:
1926 Chevrolet one ton pickup. This is a survivor truck that spent its first 80 years living in Nebraska. Super solid truck that is insured, titled, running and driving. I have extra engine, fenders, exhaus, running gear and wheels to name a few. Mileage is unknown as most of these early pot metal speedometers broke down in the 30K range. Truck has low miles on tires, tubes, brakes and rebuilt cylinder head. Both sides of the box fold down for loading. This truck needs very little to be put back to correct / original. Truck also had a new vinyl top put on and has all original glass in the wood cab. Also has wood sash windows in the doors that work correctly. Split front windshield with both halves pivoting. The front seats are removable square metal spring frame that sit on the tank housing. They are original but covered in old canvas as well. Ask any questions before you bid. More photos available. Additional information on what is included with this truck and what has been done to it. The original gas tank was taken out. Although in good condition it should probably be sealed inside with epoxy. It was replaced with a new after market Model T tank with no modifications to any original brackets. The 6 volt system is charging great and the oil pressure in this truck is excellent also. We also put new wheel bearings and seals in front and rear and put a 1/4 steel plate across the frame supporting both rear corners of the wood cab (with no modifications to the frame. The small things this truck would need would be correct window cranks and a working speedometer head. Also there are some small interior panels behind the seat ends that were probably a pressed board for cosmetics that were about 16 x 20 inches. They could easily be replaced with pressed board, Masonite or leather etc.. The drivers and passenger seat cushions are original covered steel with springs. They had slip covers of canvas put on them that are very worn and probably 50 years old. This truck did not come to us with a cushion for your back. I don't see any evidence there ever was one. If you are familiar with how small these cabs were you probably know there is not much room between the steering wheel and driver. You would have to fashion something to your liking for that purpose. It is currently up and running with a dual exhaust port 4 cylinder and 4 speed. I have a correct single port exhaust engine complete (Ferro casting marks)and a correct 3 speed. The steering wheel is complete and original but the wood is rough and joints need to be firmed up. 1926 had no windshield wipers, no heater and no front brakes. Extra running gear, new exhaust uninstalled for '26 engine, extra fenders, extra wheels (6 total counting running gear)TRUCK IS FOR SALE LOCALLY AND AUCTION MAY BE ENDED IF SOLD.
