1959 Chevrolet Other Pickups Additional Info:
1959 Apache 3100 Fleetside
Up for auction is a 1959 Apache fleetside 1/2 ton short bed resto mod. This truck has the look! Dont let the patina paint fool you, there is no rust in this truck anywhere! This is a fully restored truck with lots of time and money invested. Its been upgraded with power steering, power brakes, modern suspension, a fuel injected LS motor, and electronic shift overdrive transmission.
There are alot of amateur built, thrown together, rusty pickups on the market these days. This truck was professionally built and it shows. Lots of custom metalwork has been done. The chassis is nice and all fab work is done properly. The wiring and all motor work are done right as well. I have owned lots of early Chevy pickups, and know a good one when I see one. This truck was built by a rod shop and could not be duplicated for what it can be bought for.
This was a very solid truck to start with and appears to have very little filler.
The paint on the truck was all professionally done. This is not a quicky faux patina finish. The truck wasshot in base coat. The interior, firewall, wheels, and jambs were shot in gloss clear. The artwork was applied to the exterior, and then matte clear was sprayed on top. Lots of time went into the paint work on this truck and it shows.
The motor is a modern fuel injected 5.3 LS that runs great! It has a custom made harness that is nicely done. The trans is a 4l60e that shifts as it should. This truck is fast, and sounds mean!
It has long tube headers, and a fully custom made 3" exhaust that exits out the rear of the truck.
The truck has power disc brakes and stops nice.
The chassis is nicely done. It was setup to have a low ride height and still have lots of suspension travel. It has a Camaro subframe that has been Z'd 6". The motor and trans are raised, which gives you ground clearance and keeps the driveline angle straight. There is a custom made drive shaft tunnel though the cab. The rear has a big step notch and a parallel 4 link. It has QA1 adjustable coil overs and the ride height can easily be changed. This truck would be very easy to do air ride on and would lay flat on the ground. By bolting bag in front and replacing the coil overs with shockwaves, the truck would lay the rocker and bedsides on the ground.
New calipers, rotors, pads, wheel bearings, sway bar links, upper and lower ball joints, drag link, center link, tier rod ends, and pitman arm.
There has been lots of fab work done on this truck. The entire bed is sheet metaled and bead rolled. There are 2 compartments built in the floor with access. One houses the battery.
A custom firewall was made.
Under the hood there are custom inner fenders and radiator cover, bead rolled and shot in satin black.
There is a custom made transmission tunnel through the cab.
The bumpers, grill, and headlight bezels have been bodyworked and painted base clear.
The rear bumper has been completely modified and looks awesome. A rear custom filler panel was made as well.
The wheels are wheel vintiques smoothies painted body color, with new trim rings and caps. Tire are radial wide white walls from DiamondBack.
The interior was all stripped and painted base clear. It has Dakota Digital VHX gauges that all function as they should. Intergrated turn signal indicators, high beam indicator, and check engine light. All new chrome dash knobs, window cranks, and door handles. An ididit column was painted to match. Custom made carpet fits nice. A custom built console was painted to match. The seat, headliner, and visor are newly upholstered. Black Lokar shifter and Lokar pedals. A new Custom Autosound radio was installed in the factory opening.
New chrome mirrors, wiper arms, blades, and wiper bezels.
New complete chrome vent window assemblies, chrome side window frames, all new glass throughout the truck, new felts, new glass seals, and all new weatherstripping.
LED taillights with new bezels.
This truck has 1500 miles since completed. Its turn key and ready to go! Its a blast to drive.
