1939 Chevrolet Other Pickups std Additional Info:
We have a rare 1939 Chevy ¾ ton panel truck for sale. You will see a few of the half tons but not many of the ¾ ton models. This model has a 123 ¾” wheel base and rides smoother than the half ton. We are thinning our collection of old cars and trucks and sadly this one has to go. I had planned on keeping this truck “As Found” because of the wonderful patina. It took 77 years to look like this and we think it looks cool. We purchased this truck several years ago from a rancher in New Cuyama California which is in Santa Barbara County. This area is quite arid and gets almost no rain….one of the reasons that the metal is well preserved. I had our metal man take a few of the minor dents out and it helps the overall appearance of the truck. There was some rust in the door bottoms and sides of the panel body which we installed paint lok steel panels t with aluminum “Pop” rivets to give it a machine age streamline look. We removed the old 216 CI engine and transmission and cleaned the front frame area and painted it black. We then installed a rebuilt 235 used engine with about 5000 miles on it as well as a 40’s era Chevy truck bell housing so the stock pedal assembly would bolt up. We were going to install a early 40’s Chevy truck three speed…..just did not get it done. The truck includes only what you see in the photos (except the last 3 photos from the gold book) and we will include a front windshield frame with glass, and two side window frames with glass. We do not have the rear glass but will include a paper pattern so you can have some flat glass made. The 4 tires are new as well as new tubes. The wheels were media blasted and powder coated red. The hub caps are chrome with patina on them to accent the finish of the truck. The wood in the bed is useable but has some deterioration as shown. At the time of listing we were not able to get too many overall side view photos because it got dark and we have it tarped in our storage yard. This truck has loads of potential as a “As Found” truck or it could be hot rodded. We decided to sell it this way….that allows you to go your own direction. If you decide to go original we have all the parts available to the new owner at additional cost. We will list those parts in a separate ebay listing.I can just see a sign painter putting “Last Chance Garage” on the doors of this truck. Please ask any questions before you bid. The truck is registered as “Non-Op” in the state of California and is insured. We also have a pair of nice 1939 California World’s fair Plates that can be purchased separately for $475.00 if the new owner wants them. They are currently assigned to this truck. We will assist in loading this truck if necessary….it rolls but has no working brakes….it will have to winched onto a transport truck. Please take a minute and look in our ebay store which has tons of parts for trucks like this. Thanks for lookingBrian 949 492-8702 is the contact number for questions
