This all steel Master Eagle has recently rolled into MotoeXotica Classic Cars and she is a beauty!
Assembled in July 1933 at GM’s Tarrytown, New York factory, this car features factory black body and fenders with white pinstriping. The paint and trim are in show quality condition, as are the glass panels, which are clear and crack-free. The car’s lights are clear and pristine. The car rolls on Firestone whitewall tires, size 5.50-18, and those surround contrasting and very handsome white wire wheels. All of this Chevy’s body panels are steel, solid and straight, including the rubberized roof. There’s even a matching spare tire cover in the rear of the car.
The mohair brown cloth interior is in very good condition. The matching carpet is in good shape while the matching headliner is in very good order. The instrument panel and original, three-spoke steering wheel are both in terrific shape, as are the inner door panels and mirror glass and the shift lever is in good condition. Each of the windows, including the backlight and windshield, has beautiful brown windowsills. The accelerator pedal does double duty as the starter, a.k.a. the Starterator.
Chevrolet manufactured the Eagle (Series CA) in 1933 to replace the 1932 Series BA Confederate. The Eagle was produced early in the 1933 production year. Later in 1933, the Eagle name was changed to Master when the Standard series was added to provide Chevrolet with a two-car range and the first time in 10 years Chevrolet manufactured two models on different wheelbases.
Total the earlier Eagle and later Master combined sold 450,435, an increase of nearly 140,000 the previous year’s Series BA sales of 313,395 and ensured that Chevrolet was able to retain their number one spot in American car sales. The Eagle saw the end of two-seater cars from Chevrolet and the new Town Sedan included an integral trunk.
There are several differences between the Eagle and Master. The easiest to identify is the post between the front door wing windows and the roll down windows. On the Eagle the chrome divider between these two windows goes down as the window goes down, where as on the Master this divider remains fixed and does not go down with the window.
The Eagle and Master’s wheelbase increased an inch to 110 inches compared to the Series BA and was three inches longer than the new Standard.
It was powered by a larger version of the “Stovebolt Six,” 206 CID six-cylinder engine, producing 65 horsepower. A smaller 181 CID six-cylinder was used in the Standard, producing 60 horsepower. The three-speed manual transmission featured Synchro-Mesh, which promoted smoother shifts.
This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 87,460 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, actual Arizona mileage title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
