1979 Chevrolet Corvette Additional Info:

Clean Title. Mechanically sound, car is in great overall condition and doesn't need much of anything. This is a car that can be enjoyed immediately... not some "project car" by any means. Same owner past 22 years. 82,000 miles... believe to be original. I'm one that believes a car needs to be driven periodically... but I do not have many opportunities to drive this one anymore... and it's got to go. As mentioned... it's not a project car... but I am selling it at a very near "project car" price.

Paint is very nice & glossy, but not the original color. Original color was GM silver (RPO# 13) that used to get worn looking despite the very best care & car was repainted before I acquired it. Interior is oyster (RPO# 122) & was originally leather... was switched to vinyl before I acquired it... & can easily be converted back.

This Corvette will get the enthusiast into the hobby with a modest investment that won't break the bank and will provide a car that is fun to drive and a good platform to modify for better performance if desired. This particular car has not been modified... and is drivable and fun. It shows very well & garners it's share of turned heads & compliments... but it's not perfect.

What it has:

Solid frame & birdcage

Engine & transmission perform strong & flawless

Suspension, brakes & tires are all good

TWO sets of T-Tops (Body colored panels & glass)

Power steering & brakes

Dual exhaust w/ dual compact cats to pass emissions requirements

Aluminum rims

AC fully serviced in 2014 & blows nice cold air

What it could use (mostly minor cosmetics):

Driver's seat could use some new upholstery, but what's there now is still very usable... no tears... just cracks in vinyl.

Carpet could stand to be swapped out too... but is also in decent condition at the moment... you would not have to consider replacing immediately.

Radio is original but seems to be acting up. Will only operate power antenna on occasion & works on FM only (repeat, AM & cassette do not work).

One droopy headlight... occasionally, but not always... needs assistance... easy fix... just haven't had time to repair.

Power windows & locks act up from time to time... again just no time to repair.

Steering wheel could use recover.

Car is being sold "As is" without any expressed or implied warranties and buyer will be responsible for pick up and/or shipping. Please feel free to ask any questions and I will answer as truthfully and quickly as I can. If you wish to see the car in person, arrangements can be made. In fact... I encourage it.

I ask if you choose to use "Buy it Now" or want to make an offer, please have your funds in order prior to buying/offering. I will NOT give the car away and there aren't any external factors forcing me to sell quickly. It simply doesn't get driven enough... that's the ONLY reason for selling.

The car is also for sale locally. Therefore I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car should sell before the auction is scheduled to expire.

Please, no international bidders (continental 48 US States only), dreamers, tire-kickers, joy-riders, low-ball offers, trade offers or scammers. If you're an automobile broker... and wish to present your pitch to represent me and/or the car for sale... you also DO NOT need to contact me.

Acceptable payment methods are cash or cashier's check only. I will require a $500.00 deposit within 48 hours of auction close, with the remaining balance due within 14 days. I think both timelines are VERY reasonable and accommodating when purchasing a used car.
