1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Additional Info:
I have owned this car for 13 years. I Bought it to build a pro touring car and life and my business got in the way as I build cars for a living and pushed this one in the corner for later down the road. One of the nicest body's I have seen on a convertible in a long time that's why I held onto it and wanted to build it for so long. First of all yes it is titled as a 72 but I personally don't like the 72 grill so I changed grill and side markers to 71.All metal is original to the car and perfect except when Goodmark bought GM's factory tooling for thequarter panels I purchased them because the quarters had a little bit of perforation above the wheel lip and I wanted it to be perfect. It started life as a red on black bucket seat console 350/350 factory air p/s p/b car.The car was glass media stripped and epoxy primed top to bottom inside and out. Frame was powder coated chassis black along with all suspension components. Bottom of the car was finished in semi-gloss black. Rear end is a 12 bolt posi with new axles and new 3.89 gears. The suspension in the rear is umi tubular uppers and lowers with SS braces and 7/8 sway bar. Front suspension has the offset upper tubular control arms with GMs tall spindles and CPP's one piece spindle with sealed bearings along with an 1 1/4 sway bar, and a Delphi quick ratio steering makes this car handle like a dream. It stops with GM's Corvette Powerdisc brakes on all 4 corners. a 450 HPLS3 Crate engine and mated to a tr6060 6 speed with a final overdrive of .050 will cruise at 75 mph at 1950 RPM's and net you over 23 MPG's.Fuel is delivered from an original tanks tank with a 255 gph walboro pump and afactoryvette fuel pressure regulator filter. All 8 cylinders sing in perfect harmony through the American thunder Flowmaster tuned exhaust. It stays cool with a PRC aluminum radiator with dual spal electric fans. This carwill go anywhere. The cockpit features Dakota Digital VHX gauges, All new American autowire front to rear, vintage A/C, TMI sport R Buckets and a canvas top with the tunes coming from an amplified custom auto sound, sound system you will never miss a beat. The floor of the car was insulated with Dynamat front to rear. It has a new Power Stayfast Canvas top with all new hydraulic pumps, cylinders, and lines. It rolls on new Budnick 19 and 20 wheels and nitto tires and is lowered with Hotchkis front and rear springs. Body and paint fit and finish are exceptional as most of the original metal was used and obtained an original GM cowl induction hood. Original front and rear bumpers were rechromed. I used as many original GM parts as I could find because aftermarket stuff just doesn't fit. Bodywork included shaved firewall and shaved emblems. The top fits like it should, windows roll up and down correct, there is no wind noise. This is a very nice car. I have put close to 2000 miles on it. I went on the first leg of the Hot RodPower Tour and drove it to the Goodguys in Fort Worth. Runs and drives perfect, it comfortable and I wouldn't hesitate to hop in it and drive across country. I love it but the reason for sellingis I'm trying to pay off house and have a more relaxed stress free second half of my life.Contrary to what you see on TV hot rodbuilders don't all have tv shows. If you have anymore questionsor need to see more pictures call me as I am sure I forgot some things please call at 2816150551. I don't have to sell I am not in a bind and if I cant get what I want I will keep it. Thanks for the interest. Please don't bid if your not truly interested. I am located 30 miles north of Houston so fly in and drive home.
