1971 Chevrolet Other Pickups Base Additional Info:

The engine is a 4-bolt main, casting # 3970010, the heads are casting # 3973487. The valves are 2.02 and 1.60 the combustion chamber is 76cc. The cylinders are original bore and gaugedout excellent ( well within tolerance) and have no ridge, the bottom end was rebuilt in 2001, in 2016 the heads were valve lapped, hot tanked and reassembled with new gaskets, all new head bolts and both o-ring and umbrella seals. The engine has new oil pump and intermediateshaft and coupler(stock style), hydraulic lifters, push tubes, timing gear and chain set, front and rear rubber seals, oil pan gasket, timing cover gasket. Other external engine parts include new water pump, heater fittings, starter, one wire alternator with new brackets, new power steering pump with new brackets, motor mounts, new thermostat and housing, oil switch, temp switch, throttle cable and kickdown bracket, new crank and water pump pulleys, Edelbrock performer intake manifol, Edelbrock 650 carb, new fuel pump. The transmission is a th350 long shaft 3 speed automatic with new trans mount, front and rear u-joints and carrier bearing. The rear gear is a 4.11 with new fluid and gasket. The transmission was supposedly rebuilt in 2009, I cannot verify this but upon pan removal I noticed that the valve body gasket was new along with the front pump gasket and tail shaftseal, the pan was spotless and the body looked recently cleaned. All new parts have 0 miles. Brakes are very good, very little wear on pads and shoes. The truck has power brakes and steering. Previous owner replaced idler arm and 1 tie rod, all fittings took grease. The entire bed was stripped down to metal to repair minor dents, dura glass was the primary filler with a skim coat of ppg filler, the bed rail post holes were welded closed and also filled with dura glass. This is a project truck that would require very little work to put on the road, needs radiator re-installed, wiring, has radio, steering wheel adapter, previous owner destroyedthe splines on the adapter. Lot's of bolts brackets spare parts fro 2 other donor trucks included. Have original tailgate( bad shape). We removed the front glass and rear slider ( both in excellent condition) to replace the rubber seal's, (we didn't) all glass and some spare glass comes with truck, side glass and wings are very good condition. If you are mechanically inclined finishing this truck would be easy. If you are not...don'tbuy it and complain it needs work. Emails welcome.
