Here for sale I have my 1981 Chevrolet LUV (light utility vehicle) pickup truck. a 2.2L Isuzu Diesel C223 Engine & 4 speed manual transmission.The motor and transmission is 100% original with 87K original miles.I purchased the truck in 2010 from a gentleman in West Virginia.I restored this truck 2 years ago. I have not used it as much as I thought I would so I am listing it for sale here.
Here are some the things I did:-New timing belt-All new Rims and Tires (still have the originals - They come with the truck)-I chose the new style BFG KO2 A/Ts-All new Brakes front and rear - Master Cylinder etc... rear shoes - wheel cylinders etc...-New exhaust.-All Fluids & Filters changed- Axles - Transmission- Engine etc...-All new shocks.-Installed Class 3 Reese style hitch.-New Carpet-Had the original seat professionally redone-4 wheel alignment-Fresh paint - Base Coat clear coat. (These trucks all came stock from the factory with a single stage acrylic enamel paint- so this was a nice upgrade)-CD player. -New DEKA Battery
Truck does not leak or burn oil. Glow plugs cycle and she fires up nicely. Factory 4:10 Gearing so 65 mph is close to top speed. 4 wheel drive works great. Sips fuel at 35+MPG. I burn a half a qt of tranny fluid with every tank of diesel to help lubricate the injector pump. I installed a roll in bedliner and I also have a hard plastic bed liner installed as well. Did not come stock with power steering or A/C. But it turns easily so its fine without it. Stored winters.Dashboard is original & is cracked.
