1974 Chevrolet El Camino
No, the El Camino was not made from the factory with a Laguna S3 nose, but it shouldhavebeen! This El Camino received the front grill from a 1975 Chevelle Laguna S3 as well as the dash with gauges, tilt steering and split front bench seat. The car was totally redone about 8 years ago (12k miles) and features the following:
Power windows
Remote mirrors
Laguna Dash with gauges
New upholstery with center arm rest
New carpet, visors, headliner, thresh holds, and door panels
Original headliner still very nice
Tilt steering
Sony Stereo with speaker box
Centerline wheels look like new
But, the best part is the engine:
383 Stroker
The original 350 was built with the following:
Eagle high performace rods Hi performance pistons Chrome moly low tension rings
Eagle crankshaft Edelbrock performance aluminum heads Roller rockers
Model 280 Competition cam Competition cam lifters Chrome Molly push rods
New harmonic balancer Hi perf water pump Edelbrock RPM intake manifold
Holly street avenger carb MDS hot spark and high high perf distributor Aux A/C fan
Melling high volume oil pump Milloden 10 quart oil pan FFI flywheel Super starter
Hedman headers - dual exhaust that rumbles and sounds very tough
700 R4 transmission with overdrive lockout feature
POSI rear
The car is very fast off the line but still cruises nicely at highway speeds
The A/C was rebuilt and was blowing ice cold until 2 weeks ago when the clutch went in the compressor. It let out a loud squeal but did not seize up, but stopped turning on and blowing cold. Change out the compressor and enjoy the A/C again.
The body was painted in a metallic green with white accent stripes along the bottom. A beautiful color combination and the car looks great from 10 feet away. However, there is some rust popping back through - mostly along the bottom of fenders, doors, and quarters. There is a few very small bubbles on the roof. I have attached some photos but can send more if needed. The front floor pan was replaced with the correct floor, however the rear section of floor below the rear window is rusty. The bed was finished with Rhino flex bed liner.
Overall this is a nice car that can be enjoyed as is or can be taken to the next level with some new bodywork.
No reserve - I have started the bidding at the lowest I would sell the car. The motor cost over $4k to build so this is a great car for this price.
Please feel free to email me any questions or your phone number if you would like to discuss further.
I am flexible in holding the car until picked up once it is paid for. $500 deposit in 24 hours, full payment in 72 hours
Thanks for looking
